Accra Putter Shafts? Any experience?

Anyone have experience with the ACCRA putter shafts? I’ve been doing a lot of research about the Stability shaft and other options and this seems like a solid alternative with a better price point. I’ve done some searches here and can’t find much on them. To me, it makes sense to get the stiffest one for the most stability but I’m not sure. Thanks!

I’ve tested them as a local club builder tried selling them. They’re weren’t very popular and if I recall has a lot of graphic on them. The concept makes sense and Accra makes a solid product so you can give it a try.

KBS also has a CT putter shaft that imo feels incredible and KBS is coming out with a stability like shaft called One Step this summer.

I have to say, I was not expecting much but I got a CT Tour matte black shaft for my betti and it feels awesome. It feels a bit lighter than the stock shaft that it came with, but super soft with good feedback on any slight mishit. I added 4 pieces of lead tape because it is a 330gr head and I was used to a 350gr.

It was an excellent putting round when I got to take it out on Sunday before football.

Honestly it should be fairly similar. I thought someone told me Betti uses KBS putter shafts. I know Odyssey does. I put a KBS CT tour in my Toulon and I didn’t feel any weight loss and I didn’t expect to. Regardless it’s a great looking and feeling shaft.

I have an Accra FX P300 that came in one of my Piretti customs. It was one of the older ones with the gaudy yellow and chrome graphics on black graphite

It was the second stiffest of the four profiles in the series. It weighs around 130 grams and is very stout. I stripped the graphics off it with Citri-Strip , and it is now installed in carbon fit-face Bettinardi. Gave the Betti more feel, less mush. As for KBS shafts , I have been using C-Taper iron shafts in many of my satin finished putters. 9 iron shafts tipped about 1.5" for deep milled faces , 3 iron shafts tipped 1.5" for light milled faces. Gives me firmer or softer feel , that helps my distance control with plenty of feedback....

Comparing the Accra FX P300 to a KBS C-Taper 120 nine iron shaft ,tipped 1.5" , the the Accra is much firmer with more feedback....

I got my hands on 3 of the Accra putter shafts just yet to decide which putters they'll go into. Like others said the old ones have a very large and bright band, I think their new ones have a small logo you can point down so the shaft is blank. When I get them installed I'll do a review.

 

I also have Fujikura proto putter shaft that I'll try out as well, it doesn't look as stiff/stout as the Accra shafts I have so maybe will react different. But will have to see.

I have the Stability Tour and FXP100... very different. Stability is much much stiffer and firmer feeling to the fxp100. The accra in my mills proto feels great though.

I heard it was a good shaft with feel but I haven’t tried it. I use a LA golf graphite with my Bettinardi.

Is that shaft really worth $280? I think it's the most expensive putter shaft on the market.

Funny, I thought about this too. But when we think that we can spend 300 on a driver shaft that maybe you hit 12-14 times a round, would you spend 280 on a shaft for a club you may use twice as much?

We can certainly argue if a shaft change in a putter will truly make you a better putter or not, but the logic that spending that much on a shaft for a club you use twice as much as a driver is ridiculous, really isn’t that ridiculous.

I 100% agree to that but I think you kinda misunderstood my comment as well. I was more asking if that $280 shaft was worth it vs these Accra or similar which are $100-150. So if @gsrjc was to say it's good but not an extra 150+ good then no needs to spend the extra cash.

I like the feel. But my Bettinardi is also a custom fit face so would I do it if it wasn’t custom. Probably not. I wanted to be different and had access to getting the shaft. I will say the putter feels more connected to my swing. I put left hand low and it’s given me better control on distance. I had the matrix graphite putter shaft before on another Bettinardi and as most know LA golf bought matrix. I can’t tell the difference between the two.

Good to know thanks, that's one thing I've found with some steel shafts mainly stepped is that I can feel the head move cause of my stroke.

 

I am thinking of getting a Sik arm lock putter and wondering if i should do a LA golf shaft or not but that just means the price goes from 545 to 800 which is a lot, or maybe I could save an Accra shaft and use that. Lots to consider honestly. But thanks for the response.

Anyone on here with updates after install please provide feedback! I'm kinda leaning toward this or the KBS CT Tour at the moment. I've done a lot of tinkering this winter and I'm not sure I want to shell out the extra $250 for stability at the moment!
