Except SIM is the only one with heel/toe movable CoG. He very well could have slid the front track weight heel side a touch and reduced the right spin. That may have been all that was needed.

I agree on any loft changes. But it appears the other two drivers were a bit closer to optimal. Though he could have dropped loft on the Cobra to help cut a bit more spin.

Mav has been money for me. Playing group continues to comment about it. I've had the Mavrik SZ, Ping G410, PXG 0811X, Epic Flash SZ and TS3 in the past 18 months and the Mavrik, for my miss has been the best thing to happen to my game outside of lessons and my putter fitting. My fitter did a great job getting it optimized for me and the right shaft at the right length for me to find the center of the face more consistently too, but my miss has been the best thing this driver has catered to. I was very lucky the Rogue White was the best shaft for me that I tested and didn't cost me any upcharge like I had anticipated.

i bought and sold a Standard Mavrik already. The feel and sound are vastly improved over Flash, but I just did not see anything for me.

My staple shaft has been the smoke, have a new Ventus and ordered the rogue white. I just got better dispersion and more distance with both my GBB and OG Epic.

i was baffled. I liked everything about it, but it just didnโ€™t pan out for me. I must need slider weights.

Low in the face and low heel. Also a high spin player so the Sub Zero w/ the weights flipped has improved my spin#'s and brought my flight trajectory down into level I want.

Im amazed how each person has a different outcome to each new offering. Where someone picks up 15 yards and more accuracy another can lose 3 yards and slightly inaccurate... so strange. I have a theory its not much better then the rogue driver i currently have or maybe just slightly? Im looking to upgrade at hybrid though and dont know if epic flash or mavrik should replace my big bertha os from a few yrs ago. Leaning epic flash.

I tested the Mavrik and my Epic Flash SZ was longer (as a lefty, the store didnt have a Mavrik subzero for testing, go figure...) but in the end, the SIM beat them both in distance and consistency. Kept the same shaft as in the SZ (Hzrdus Smoke Black 70g).

Apart from the distance, the sound is a huge improvement over the Epic Flash Subzero, it sounds very powerful, beating both the SZ and the Mavrik. The only con is the looks on the back (but thats a minor thing since we obviously cant see the bottom or back at address.

There is so many variables when getting a new club that can really alter performance. The fitting, the fitter, the fit'ee and the swing that he brought in that day. The accessibility of option at the time of fitting. So one day you could gain zero yards and the next 10 simply because the stars aligned on that day in one area or another.

ย

That does not and should not mean you will do that every time. It could just be an indicator of change between fittings.

I hit the regular and the SZ indoors last night and I could hit the sweet spot on the SZ consistently, but I could not find the sweet spot on the regular. I have no idea why. So even though the spin numbers were low, I pulled the trigger on the SZ with the Rouge 130 70S. Custom ordered through the Cally site.

I guess I hope my SS comes up a bit once I play more, and that in turn will also add to the spin. Any other tricks out there to keep the feel while bringing the spin up?

I think Callaway is purposely making ugly painted drivers to have more people pay for the custom shop.

hit the mavrik and sim and mavrik sub zero and cobra sz yesterday.. Coming off an og epic. this club was extremely familiar feeling, felt a bit better off the toe when i did hit it there. but also was missing a touch of feeling when i did hit it clean. As a taylormade non lover, i was having a bit of a good day with the sim, and it was consistantly 10 yards longer then the mav for me with both stiff and xstiff shafts. will need to test this another day to follow up.
