I played yesterday. My swing was not completely on. When I squared it up this thing is absolute bombs. But, if you are late, its exit stage right. haha.

I am going to test something similar tonight. Again, I was off yesterday. I think it was doing to much bench press at the gym. haha.

I won't be able to test on a launch monitor to get face to path differences in the 2 setups, but start line and ball flight will be easy to document. I'd love to be able to go after it as hard as I want and not worry about a hard right miss. But I am concerned about face closure with that much weight back. Can't go after it hard and be closed to path while.lined up left of center...stupid game

There is also the MAX. I am considering that as well.. No matter what I am cutting about a half inch or more off this shaft. 45.75 is too long.

I’m currently gaming a 9 deg M5 with a Tensei pro white 60TX and it’s very consistent, but not long at all. Of the stock shafts, what do you think would be a good one to try? I swing around 110 mph on normal swings on the course. Smoke green maybe?

I’ll be keeping the Pro White shaft no matter what I buy as my backup.

Found the same with the M5 but going back to my M3 440 gave me the distance back and really wasn't much worse on consistency. We'll see how the SIM does when it comes in next week.

For stock shafts the smoke green is probably the best option, but it may be a "custom" order if you want it in the 60g. The stock shaft seems to be listed as just the 70g. I would skip the "Fentus" as someone appropriately named it a few pages back.

Did you hit the SIM Max as well and find the same thing? Or was this more with the SIM only? I'm similar in my miss and would love to find something that is both more forgiving and anti-left (unfortunately I find that most OEMs tend to make their more forgiving heads more draw biased... but at least since they have another explicitly draw biased version then maybe the Sim MAX is at least neutral?).

I'm a little slower than your SS (100-105 mph) but play the Tensei Pro White 60S in a 9 deg M5. I've demoed the SIM and SIM max in my shaft and saw more distance with both by about 6-8 yds carry and 11-15 total due to slightly lower spin. For poops and giggles I tried the diamana 60S the other day and was getting solid results at stock length vs. the -0.25" I play in my Tensei. Not sure what the profile differences are but the Diamana felt pretty good if I were to order one with a stock shaft. I also had really good results with the 70g HZRDUS Smoke when I bought my M5 for what it's worth.

Had a fitting today with TM, I played a Epic Flash 10.5* with RIP Phenom 70X (Plays 44.5") and I have trouble launching that high (70-80') and keeping spin down. Was fit into SIM MAX 9* turned to 8.25* Smoke Green 70X (Standard length). Was launching at 10* and the spin numbers and peak height (100ft) were good by me. Question is how accurate is TM in their tolerances on stamped lofts? Seems like this was an interesting outcome for me. Any insight would be great from the experts!

Glad you asked, I tested both the SIM and SIM Max at Edwing Watts before pre-ordering it. The SIM Max does sit more closed at address than the SIM and the flight was definitely a bit more draw-based vs the SIM. Nothing huge but if your miss is left, I would strongly suggest the SIM rather than SIM MAX.

I know many tour pros are playing the MAX, but their versions are custom and probably set open vs the retail versions we have access to. At least with the SIM, we can adjust with the weight as well. Im in LOVE with my SIM (and thats coming from EPIC Flash Sub Zero, which was amazing as well). My first round with the SIM is tomorrow, cant wait! (have gone twice to the range this week to test it)

Ok...Silly, tough question. I have read some of this thread but not the whole thing. I have an epic flash sz 10.5 degree set to -1 with a smoke black shaft that I like as well as anything I have had.

If I was trying a Sim, what would be the first head I should try.....I know, I need to test them all, but just looking for opinions.

Well.....

I went off the deep end and ordered a new SIM 9 deg with the Ventus Blue 6X with velocore.... TaylorMade and their dang 150% trade in credits. Gets me every time.

Pretty excited to try this combo out. Bye bye M5... you were a fairway finding machine, but I need more speed cuz I’m not getting any younger!

Been testing with XC6X the past 1week and comparing with Tensei Pro Orange 6X for the past 3 rounds. Found this to be a great combination for my swing and loading character. Haven’t seen the numbers on launch monitor yet but during the rounds, it performed very well both carry and overall distance.

As being counterbalanced, I gotta play 45.5” to achieve D3 swing weight compare to 45” to grip with TourAD XC.

Anybody play something similar?
