My Heart says Andy Reid and Mahomes.

But I like what Jon Lynch has done in San Francisco

That defense wont shut MaHomes down completely

But the run game will help the Niners control tempo. Tempo and turnovers could be key. MaHomes traditionally does well against the zone

but it might be different with the Niners. He could be coaxed into making some ill timed throws with that front 7

We all know how great T Kelce is at TE and how fast Hill and Hardeman are, with S Watkins probably drawing attention from Sherman.

However, I feel that with a defense that can put pressure on every play, and a running game like a Shanahan schemed run attack, combined with well devised passing from Jimmy G you will have a barn burner for a football game

This game looks like an “over”waiting to happen. Last year I had a winning ticket on my annual Trek across the state line to WV to place my bets at the Hollywood Casino Sportsbook in Charles Town, where you can watch the ponies, see Jay Leno and Norm McDonald wax poetic. Or you can lose money playing a million different versions of poker and Black Jack for which I have not the patience to decipher. Norm McDonald is a hoot. Leno is like a Diet Coke, tastes very sweet, you have to watch him because he’s a brand, but not much calories to burn. Just sweet.

Today I go up to try and fixate on the props with weights on possible long shots to play. Not really interested on betting on MaHomes to be MVP at -150 but I am not loaded and am going to throw serious cash at that foolishness. What happens if he gets hurt? What happens if Jimmy G has a big day playing catch up? What happens if Dee Ford knocks him into oblivion and he fumbles in the 4th quarter? That said he’s the favorite for a very good reason. Mahomes IMHO is the best Qb in the league right now. And it’s not even close. Lamar Jackson and DeShaun Watson are right there also. But just being able to be Michael Jordon on the football field is not always a guaranteed win

What happens if Andy Reid fails to script a game plan that does not emphasize the pass enough? I feel the Chiefs will get paid in the 4th quarter if they wear down the pass rush by running play action in the 1st and second quarter. Allowing their running game to be present while still passing on 1st and 2nd downs. The Niners defense is dead last on play action passes in the first quarter.

That said the Titans destroyed the Chiefs in the first half using play action. Mahomes brought them back and they could no longer use play action in the second half.

I think the sports media is throwing shade on my unheralded guy and a decent shot at MVP Jimmy G. If you listen to them you would think Shanahan is going to go way conservative and continue to pound the running game. Well duh, if it’s working that is how you keep MaHomes off the field. But Mahomes is going to score points How many is a very good question. Turnovers always A key. I guess you take the team with a plus 2 margin and their odds of winning go up dramatically. Not sure if the improved Chiefs defense will turnover to a tune of plus 2 or more the S.F offense, but I can see Dee Ford and J. Bosa wreaking havoc in that Chiefs backfield.

So when I go up to WV after my employee Christmas Party I will put a teaser bet in for

SF + 7 and tease down the over

But for predictions here I will say

SF 30 KC 27

Plus a small 10 dollar bet on Dee Ford at +150 MVP LoL

Pete3 at 31-27 is the closest. Three of us had it around 4pts off for each team.

When 49ers did the end zone celebration with over quarter left I was thinking wayyyyyyy to early and could come back to bit them. It did.

Was thinking in 4th with what 6+ minutes left and 3rd and long that this could be Superbowl for 49ers.....then Mahomes throws a 44yd. pass lol.

Lot of people lost money when Mahomes did those end game kneel downs for the over on his rushing yards. Think over was 35, he had 40+ and ended up with like 22 lol.

Overall really good Superbowl and just wish they would go back to one week instead of two.

So I guess the season is over. The impeachment is over. The holidays are over. Mookie Betts as a Red Sox is over. So many things come to an end.

Touch, thank you for putting this together again. It makes me laugh, and really, what is the best part of the internet? The really funny people who post funny things.

But just like the Phoenix rose from the ashes, new things will happen this coming year.

The NHL playoff push starts in earnest. Spring training will start (the Pirates have already been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, the Dodgers will not win the series). The golf season is beginning, the real golf season, not the wrap around stuff.

Personally, before I know it, I will be hitting a little white ball around. Many of them will land on grass, and some will hit water, some will hit pavement, some may never land since I won't find it. My handicap with the new world ranking dropped by .6 strokes, so I have been getting calls from the taxi company asking when I think I am going to start playing golf again. Apparently, my "friends" realize it is more lucrative to pay for my transportation when my handicap is this low than to have me not show up. The fall was a nice memory, the winter a blur, and off we go... P3P like the phoenix.
