I wish I still had mine. I don't anything today could do much better than those irons.

I still hold on to a set of Rapture J spec irons but never really play them. The idea of the forgiveness combined with less offset seemed awesome to me and they were pretty rare in the US.
How was the feel and playability of those irons
I had a set of G15’s and at the same time my friend had a set of Rapture V2 irons. Similar head designs. Thick bottoms. Very forgiving. The Raptures felt a bit softer due to the head being made of different components of which some were softer than the steel in the G15’s.
They are still good irons. Not completely outdated or irrelevant.
Hope that helps.
I felt the titanium face caused a slightly softer feel.
10 years ago I was just getting back into golf, having had the same set of irons for 25 years, I figured it was time to try something newer. One day i bought six 7 irons out of a demo bag for $10 each. 2 of the 6 stood out for me, one the Rapture V2 and the other a MP 60.
That V2 7 iron was the easiest hitting club I had ever tried, felt great as well, way nicer feeling than it's G15 brother, like other's have mentioned that titanium face was the key. I tried very hard to find something better than the V2 for me. Finally bought the whole set, loved those irons, but the Mp 60 forged feel had me start on a forged iron quest, I ended up selling my V2's to a friend. Couple of years later after pulling out my original V2 7 iron i decided I needed another set. I was able to find a nice set of J spec V2's.
The J spec have lower offset than the standard V2's along with the forgiveness and that sweet feel off the titanium face. I had put my favourite recoil shafts in the J spec V2's, I was pretty happy with the new set up, but always the tinker I bought a set of mint i500's. I was having to make a decision on what set to bring to our annual guys golf weekend 36 a day for 3 days. The i500's won out mainly because they were new to me and I wanted to see how I would make out playing that many holes with them. Well it was a disaster, played very poorly with them couldn't make a shot. I had done pretty decently at my home club with them but it was a no go that weekend. WE played the second round of the second day as a best ball 4 some. On a par 3 that I hadn't hit the green on with my i500 7 iron the previous 2 rounds, I borrowed my old V2 7 iron off the friend I had sold my set to. Well I put it to 16 inches. Yup I wished like H-LL I had brought my V2's with me instead of the i500's. Sold the i500's, still have the V2's.
Planning a trip to watch some hockey in Dallas in March, after along winter I can't wait to hit a few balls, like usual I have been busy buying up a few sets, and wondering hard on what to bring with me on the trip. Kinda funny I was thinking don't make the same mistake as last spring and leave the V2's at home. This thread has me leaning extremely hard on bringing the V2's to Texas. Glad u asked about them, sorry for the novel....
I love mine, OG version though.

The thought of j spec V2s sitting in a closet makes me sad. They deserve better.
I have a friend who still plays the Rapture v2 and I don't think he'll ever change, he loves them. Another has the Anser forged (2nd gen) from 2013, so 7 years old, and I think they are still one of Ping's best irons ever.
V2 it ,thanks for the feedback
That's funny. Just V2 it, sounds like it would make a great Ping commercial. No worries, glad u asked, these do not get enough love especially the Japan spec version. Every time I play them I ask myself why I don't play them all the time, but the love of trying new product makes that impossible. Many sets have come and gone, but these V2's are not getting away ever again. Best of luck in your search.
I found it very good.
I had a set and loved them. The problem was that with them I hit the ball so high that it was ridiculous !I wish I still had them!
I have just the 4 iron head, may be j spec
i still have 3-7 j spec og raptures and 5-PW us spec raptures with Aldila nv 105x in them
awesome irons all around
