Help! Alternative to the Oban CT 115 needed

Went through my fitting at CC today and was blown away by the results and feel of the Oban CT 115. Then I found out about the cost lol. Does anybody have any recommendation for something with a profile that is close to this shaft? I’ve searched and it seems pretty inconclusive on WRX, but I thought I’d check and see if anybody has found the affordable alternative to this shaft. Thanks.

There's already a 2-page thread that is still active ony several posts below yours. I suggest you read that. If there is no conclusive evidence, go ask your fitter or pony up the cash. If a 2-3 year old topic is still being debated about what is the closest with no true answer then there probably isn't anything except the real thing. Because I wanted the post police who have nothing better to do than hide behind their keyboard and scold others to have something to do today. Now if you want the real reason, I did post on the other thread and I thought I wasn’t getting any responses to it because my notifications for that particular thread are not letting me know that somebody responded. I just assumed nobody was interested. Turns out people had responded, but I wasn’t being notified. My apologies.

Little less time trying to alert the post police, a little more time working and you'd have the coin to get those Obans. There really isn't any shaft like the Oban for steel, many people have tried to get similar but they just end up spending the coin, or settling for less.

They are a bit of a unique profile, but I would worry more about weight overall. The standard Project X Rifle is somewhat close depending on what flex you were looking at. The PX is a little more stout overall so if you were for example looking at the stiff CT-115 then soft stepping a PX 5.5 twice could be a close match.

I’ve heard differing opinions on the Nippon Modus Tour. I wonder if that’s an option. I’m going to have to go back and see what else I can find.

The Modus line tends to have more extreme profiles. The 105 is the closest to the Oban CT but is softer overall, pretty much the opposite case as the PX in that you would need to go up a flex to more closely match. Outside of that, the other Modus offerings are quite different.
