Miura Cb 57 VS. Miura TC 201

CB57 is a legendary head. They play really well. The TC 201 does not have the curb appeal and I don’t like how they moved more weight away from the impact area. To boost MOI I’m sure but it looks like a lot of notchbacks.

Well I just order a set of Cb 57s from Chip Usher, due to the info I was told. The CB57s are a smaller footprint with about the same amount of forgiveness, so I ordered straightaway as that is exactly what I was looking for. Now just waiting for my Nippon 120TX shafts to come in to start this build! This will be my first set of Miura. Now trying to decide if I should go with the wedges as well, or stick with my Vokeys?

I love cb57s so much, I own 6 sets, I hope that gets me to 70 years old, currently 41. Chip built my sets too, awesome guy. Let us know how you like the cb57s.

I have three sets of CB57's now. Chip has built two of them.

 

Get the Miura wedges, but keep whatever Vokey you use for bunker shots.

I keep a PM Grind for this exact reason (and for the random hero shot).

Don't speed up their life by blasting pebbles and rocks.

 

The Y grind is the best wedge I've ever hit in my life.

The Cb 57s are incredible! Love every strike!!! So pure and the feedback is incredible. I am surprised how forgiving these are on mis hits. These will be hard to replace!

I decided to go with Vokeys this go around. I went with SM7s (50 F grind, 54 S grind, 58i M grind in the slate blue with the Nippon 125 shaft. Seems to math my 120TX shafts perfectly!

I thought I may have seen it all in the several years I have been on here. But you have a back-up set to the back-up, back-up, back-up, back-up set. You seriously don't like change :)

Are the cb 57s and 1007s the same irons? Whats the difference....

I was on the fence between the TC-201 and MB 101. I've hit the CB-501s but not the CB 57. The TC-201s impressed me so much that I bought a set. They look only slightly bigger than the MB 101s and offer what I found to be quite a bit of forgiveness. I'm huge on feel, so I was concerned that the TC-201s wouldn't stand up to the MB101 and MB 001s I previously owned, but I honestly couldn't tell a difference between all 3 of those irons, which speaks volumes for good the TC-201s felt.
