Courcy75's WITB 2021 Update 9/20/21

Alright well here goes my bag...

 

 

I decided to splurge a little after some recent success in my 9-5. I will finally upgrade the fairway woods at the end of the year but everything else is set and I am playing pretty well as of late.

 

The Bag is a Sun Mountain 3.5 and I have had no issues. I am not picky on bags so I don't know much about it other than it's held up the past few years. I ordered the covers from Coobs Golf. The driver cover is for my late mother and I think it came out great. The 3 wood is for my home town of Hollywood, FL.

 

Driver: TM tour issue M1 440. Does everything we're all searching for. Doesn't go left, hits it high and looks great at address. A possible shaft change in the future but I'll probably just move on to a new club at that point.

3/5 wood: TM 07' Burner TP's. The 3 wood has an fit on 380 that I honestly don't remember anything about. I think I pulled it from a driver 12 years ago but this thing has been old faithful forever. The 5 wood is the stock TP shaft. I know the numbers they fly and they're consistent for me. They will be retired soon though (maybe) haha.

Irons: Mizuno JPX 900 Tour 4-PW w/ 6.0 LZ. These things are just solid. Played a few different sets over the years but love the satin finish and the toe on these.

Wedges: Mizuno T7 52 w/ 6.0 blackout, National Custom Works 56 w/ 6.0 blackout and National Custom Works 60 w/ 5.5 blackout. The T7 just fits in with the iron set so nothing fancy there. Now....NCW. I have never had a better customer service experience than with Patrick and team. We worked out every detail from grind to headweight and they delivered! The first wedge was the 56 and it means the world to me. The name is my late mothers name in dancing letters. My mom was my everything and losing her suddenly was rock bottom for me. I didn't know it at the time but she'd give me money that she couldn't spend to hit balls at the range because that's the type of mother she was. I smile every time I hit a good shot with that club. The 60 has "FLOCK USE ONLY" which is an ode to a group chat with all of my lifelong friends. I asked Patrick to match the grind on my previous wedge (Nike Engage) and the did with a tiny bit more bounce for full shots. It is absolutely spot on for my game. All of my wedges have the BB&F Rodeo ferrules which I love.

Putter: Scotty Cameron JAT. I played a Newport Beach for a long time but always wanted this putter. Found one in great shape this year and pulled the trigger. I have never putted better. I recently started down the Cameron cover craze (game not collect) so I have the 2020 Hula cover on this for the next few months.

Man, mothers are truly magical so much respect to you for cherishing her legacy through this game that so many of us truly love. Very nice bag/setup too. Those fairway woods are still ballistic well over a decade later and those irons and wedges are timeless.

I appreciate the kind words. Agreed on the woods too. I think I may upgrade to 1 FW wood and throw the 3 iron back in the bag at some point.

Yeah everything came out exactly how I wanted. I can't reccomend Coobs/NCW enough!

Awesome bag love the putter, wedges and head covers. Bet you’ll have a hard time replacing those woods.

I put together a minimalist/sunday bag to mess around with when I want to get a quick 9 in after work at the local short course. Recently built a full set of OG Nike blades 1-PW with the BB&F Gucci inspired ferrules. Threw in the old 905R, a nike engage 60 and an old tour fill 2 ball putter.

Updated the minimalist setup with a superquad TP and a 2005 Napa. I’m set!

I do agree, and glad it never resurfaced in a newer product line. Keeps it a rare gem

Let me know if you would how the R-7 Super Quad hits compared to your newer driver. I have one I have been messing with some and wonder about putting more effort into it

It’s 15 yards shorter than my M1 which works out great for the short course I’ve been playing this setup on. I have a lot of fun playing this bag.

9/20/21 Bag update:

 

 

Finally replaced the woods in setup.

 

Driver: Ping G425 LST with Ventus Velocore blue 7-S. I find this incredibly forgiving and once I got used to the headshape, it's been steady. Very easy to work both ways and is my first 460cc head I have ever gamed (sounds crazy I know). 

 

3 Wood: Ping G425 LST with a Tour AD Di6-s. Shaft is lighter than my driver as it was a Driver pull and the experiment has worked out great. Bomber off the tee and easy off the group. I wish the kept the clean crown on the driver as they have on the 3 wood. 

 

5 wood: Cobra Radspeed tour with a Matrix Ozik F7M2 2007 proto. I fooled around with a driving iron and 7 wood but had no success on hitting the number I needed so back to playing a 5 wood. Love the deeper face on this and clean crown. The shaft is an old pull that works great. Really nice flat ball flight.
