I think this is some elite level trolling.  Will probably respond tomorrow saying Cobra is sending him the new model with no questions asked.  Ive witnessed a few drivers get destroyed this badly.  2 of them from people driving the cart like a maniac causing their bags to come off the cart and hit concrete, and the other was someone trying trickshots like a child and then lying to Callaway on the phone about why the entire crown was destroyed (looked like op’s driver).

Sorry OP, you're not going to get much sympathy here. I find this impossible to believe it happened from hitting a golf ball. If Cobra sends you a brand new driver because you accidentally put your 5-iron through the crown of this one, then that's them being incredibly generous.

I don't know how to feel.....I want to keep my faith in humanity but there is no way you cave IN the crown of a driver by hitting the toe. Pieces would have to explode away from the club, not into the head. Were the pieces collected and the head put back together fr the picture? Please update with Cobra's response!

I have limited knowledge of how carbon fiber fails. The seam/contact point with the metal cup face may cause multiple fracture planes. Cheap carbon fiber maybe?

Regardless, it definitely looks like more than multiple toe strikes from a golf ball, and I'm with everyone else in this thread and am calling B S.

IMO, the second hit caused the carbon fiber composite to de-laminate catastrophically. Or excessive outside forces...

This can't be due from one single shot. There had to have been failure over multiple shots in a dark sim.

I've seen carbon fibre crowns separate before (bonding failure), but nothing as catastrophic as that. So, what's your swing speed?

Well I'll end my participation in my own thread by saying the following:

• I'm not an 'elite level troll'

• I don't know how or why the carbon has shattered as it has - other than it was fine when I got the clubs from my car, and then after a few shots we noticed the damage.

• My SS is only around 100mph

• One of the other guys playing did hit a couple of shots with my driver, so I suppose he could have hit one off the crown… somehow?!

• I have little expectation of Cobra sending me a new driver free of charge. Was hoping worst case that they would let me buy a replacement for cost price.

Looks like they manufacture that thing for the same cost as a roll of duck tape! Holds up about as well

Had a somewhat similar failure with an M5. The composite cracked and the toe dented unusually on a center strike.

Had a new driver from TM in 3 days after sending them pics.
