What happens to be your most prized golf item of all time? Hopefully this thread will continue on for a good long while, as I'm sure many will acquire new items, but what currently sets the bar highest? Anything and everything is welcome under the generalized umbrella of the golfing world, and pictures are greatly encouraged!!!

For me it will almost always be a high-end putter of some kind, and as of now it's currently the one in my avatar.

I probably have 3-4 items that actually stir up some emotions, or actually mean something.

1 is just my custom build 919 set I play, only reason being, first time I ever did it in many years of playing.

I have 2 pieces of memorabilia, 1 is just a canvas photo box, black and white of Sergio hitting that wedge, 4th shot on 13 in the final round, when he saved that par in the 17 Masters. The other is a very nicely framed Gleaneagles Ryder Cup flag singed by Sergio.

The final item is one I was not sure I would ever have. I am an average golfer, always dreamed of breaking 70, and did it once 2 seasons back, kept the TP5x I played the round with.

I kept the club I used for my albatross hole out for 20 years. It was a Dunlop John Jacobs system 8 iron. I guess I was WRX long back then.

But then I decided it was time to make new memories and ditched the club, so I guess it doesn’t qualify because it’s no longer in my possession.

Now my prized possessions are the Hogan Apex Plus iron heads I’ll try to keep around forever. I just loved hitting those irons when I was younger. Maybe I’ll shaft them some day and play a round with them.

A hole flag from my high school's home course my friend acquired for me when they closed up.

A set of Hogan radials, my first clubs, that I had refinished to gorgeous condition. I like thinking the day I got them back from the shop, my humble radials were in the finest condition of any clubs in the world.

Just those, nothing special

I bought a putter headcover at the Ryder Cup in 2016 here in MN. Watched every player swing at the range, followed several groups for a few holes, the people I met, etc. That headcover reminds me of those memories.

Many many years ago when I was early in my teenage years, my dad took me to a seniors event in Charlotte NC. I got some direction from my dad in getting some autographs from a few guys. Was many years later and after I really fell in love with the game, that I discovered who those 3 guys were: Arnold Palmer, Charles Sifford, and Chi Chi. I actually had that program framed 2 years ago and the look on my dads face when I gave it him is my best golf memory and always will be. He doesn’t cry...but he did that day. Thanks for bringing me to this great game Dad.

Mine is not a physical possession, but rather just a memory in my mind. I attended the Monday practice round at the 2000 Masters. I was waiting behind the 18th green when Arnie finished his round. As he emerged from the tunnel of people off the back of the 18th green, he made a right turn and we locked eyes. I extended my hand and he extended his and we shook hands. While we were shaking, I looked at him and said “Arnie, you’re the best.” He didn’t say anything, but just smiled appreciatively and walked off towards the clubhouse. I will never forget that moment.

Back in the Corporate America days, I hosted a fundraiser for a Children's Hospital in Wisconsin (lived there, still a Bears fan). Huge party the night before to draw celebs for the groups and the star was Mr. Nicklaus. There was a karaoke thing and i was asked to sing (fools) and I said I'd do it for a $5,000 donation. Lo and behold, about 3 minutes later, $5K was raised and I went and sang.

The tournament the next day raised a million + dollars (thank you passionate Wisconsin golfers) and during the dinner, Mr. Nicklaus came up to me, offered his congrats on the success of the event and asked what he could do for me. Uh, you just helped us raise a ton of money, it should have been what can I do for him. He asked for a biz card which I willingly provided.

A couple of days later, he sent a note and a signed golf ball. He thanked me and said if he could ever help to let him know. I'm not sure if anyone, let alone someone of his stature, could have been more gracious. Will always think he's the greatest golfer and the most magnanimous person, ever.

So many golf experiences with present and past family that stand out, but since it is possessions ----- summer after her senior year in high school my daughter and I partnered up for our course's inaugural member-member golf tournament. Four ball event and we were in the last group and needed par on the 18th to clinch the win (which someone made the mistake of telling us on the 17th - people were coming out to watch the last couple of foursomes). I hit mine OB on 18, she parred it! The clear, plastic trophy (each of us received one) that I have graces the bookshelves where my golf books reside - easily my most prized golf possession.

Edit: just yesterday I ran across the photo of the two of us with our "plastic" right after the round --- smile on her face is just priceless!

At the risk of sounding corny, it's the memory of playing a three ball with my dad and granddad. It only happened twice. I hope to be able to play 18 with my kids and grandkids one day.*

*(Note: This was originally written as "...play a round with my kids and grandkids one day". However, I have edited the sentence to avoid sounding like paedophile).
