my club specs

Recommended Posts

I had my clubs measured and these are the specs. I'm looking at getting new irons and wedges and right now my wedges are stock off the shelf. Wondering if I should get them to match to my iron specs, which are longer and flatter than stock? And my swing weight being D8-9 is probably due to the clubs being longer?

edit: based on the iron specs below, what specs should my GW, SW, and LW specs be?

3i - 39 7/8, D9.0, 21, 58

4i - 39 3/8, D9.0, 24, 58.5

5i - 38 7/8, D8.7, 27, 59

6i - 38 1/4, D8.8, 31, 60

7i - 37 3/4, D8.0, 37, 60

8i - 37 1/4, D8.2, 40, 61

9i - 36 3/4, D8.8, 44, 62

pw - 36 1/2, D9.9, 48, 62

Doesn't make much sense to use over length and flat irons along with standard wedges.

How did you end up with those irons? Almost 1 inch plus is a lot, and plus length combined with flat lie angles is anything but common, and like Nessism above, i think your specs makes no sense as a sum since those wedges must feel silly short and upright, plus have a lack of head weight IF, those irons is a good fit...one part of your game must suffer due to that, so how does those irons work for you, and what about your wedges?

I was custom fit for them, a long time ago. My irons are my strength of my game, wedges not so much. I would say the wedges are the clubs that don't feel natural at setup and my game suffers from shots 80 yards and in. I'm good out of the bunker but pitching I've lost my feel for it. I am thinking a S400 shaft in the wedges and have the length and lie match up to my iron specs.

As for my irons, I really just want to update my heads, but keep the rest the same as I'm pretty happy with the specs and DG S300 shafts. I'd like to try the X100. I like the characteristics of the Dynamic Gold but curious if a stiffer flex would be beneficial.

I dont know anything about your swing, but since your irons is over length and that much, they play softer than flex label with those SW values, so your thinking of X100 might be right, so maybe you should try a single shaft and see how that works.

Yes, this is part of the reason why I had my clubs measured. My yardage gaping was off, mostly noticed with the 7 iron not matching up to the set. It would play about 7 yards longer than my 8i and would be 18 yards shorter than my 6i. I noticed that the 7i was also shorter than the rest of the clubs, only being 1/4" longer than my 8i. For the time being I had the loft adjusted to 36, and extended the shaft by 1/4 inch. The lofts were never customized when I ordered the clubs so I would assume they should have been stock. I'm guessing it's a quality control thing from the manufacturer. The stock lofts should be 21, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48.

I have a demo being sent to me with an X100 in it. This way I can compare side by side with my S300. Unfortunately it won't be to matching specs, so I may have to go the route of just having one club reshafted with an X100, if I'm still unsure after trying the demo out.

not sure if this will help, but here is my swing.https://youtu.be/kuYKHwcFG1A

What im able to judge visual is weight and flex, and only if i see you from the front, and you seems comfortable with 130 grams shafts, and i already know those S300 plays to the soft side, so i dont think a video from the front helps much either. Re-shaft one club and try it side by side, thats the best anyway.
