Ordered a dozen of the Tour BX, arriving Wednesday.

Tested quite a few balls last year. Tour BX and Tour BXS along with Snell MTB-X were my front runners, did a few on course rounds with them. I enjoy a firmer feeling ball off of my putter so the Tour BX and Snell MTB-x rose to the top of the list.

A standout characteristic with the Tour BX was that it appeared to be noticeably straighter in general, especially off the driver. Approach spin between Tour BX and Tour BXS was about the same for me. Snell MTB-X spun more on approaches.

I played all last season with Snell MTB-X mostly due to great driver distance, approach spin and putter feel. I would have been happy with Tour BX though - interested to see how the new ball works!

Was I the only one who didn't think the 2018/19 Tour BX felt hard?

I certainly thought it was softer off every club in the bag than the TP5x or ProV1x...

I didn't think it was bad either. Im really having a hard time thinking I'm gonna spend more money on the new version when I liked the 2019 model. This is the reason I haven't bought any yet. Can't decide.

Yep, me too. Its what kept me from playing that ball. I tried the XS and it spun too much for me into greens. Loved the performance of the X but it just was to hard off all clubs for me. Settled ball on the V1 and have 4 dozen still that my pro will let me trade for the new BX. I'll try a sleeve and see soon.

First day of release and not sure if my shop received a lot but, their stock seemed really really low. They normally have a ton of stock. Never got around to asking if they've been selling hot. A lot less BXand BXS available than RX and RXS.

I saw a number of online retailers who would not be able to ship for a week or so. Seems like the pipeline is just not flooded yet.

I didn’t think the ‘19 X felt hard necessarily but I did feel like it lacked spin from 30yds and in. Was honestly hard for me to hit those low one bounce zippers that I can with other balls.

now I’m torn. The new X seems to have more short game spin but the XS seems to have less driver spin. According to TXG the X is several MPH faster off the driver but didn’t seem that much longer... Tiger seems to be moving it pretty well off the tee so maybe the XS is the best of both worlds?

I'm in the same boat. I've been a B330s guy for a couple of years. Loved the way it spun around the green but I felt it was a little too soft on the putter. Played with the Tour BX the last few rounds I played before winter hit and putted and flew great. Didn't seem to hard really. I had convinced myself I was moving to the X and now I'm not sure.

According to the TXG review the XS only spun a few hundred RPM's less with the driver, and a few hundred RPMs more on short game shots. I doubt the difference would be that noticeable to most players. It might come down to a question of feel, more than anything.

Based in the initial reviews, the X would seem to be the better all-round option - certainly for me at least. I still have a stockpile of last year's model and love them, so I'm going to be interested to compare.

I saw the USGA conforming list has the tour b x/xs in yellow. Does that mean there’s a good chance they will release them?

yeah, I’ve played a yellow ball for the last few years and it’s hard to switch back to white. I’d like to try the new tour B line though.

If they do make yellow, I hope it’s better than the 2019 version of the Tour B RX/S in yellow. It was very lackluster.

So Bridgestone is following Titleist’s model now where performance is very similar with compression/feel being the primary difference.

Yeah I’ve noticed they have made the last couple editions of the xs and 330s in yellow for the Japanese market. They finally made them available here last year but it was supposedly a limited run or trial. I do hope they bring the new model over.

So, say your swing speed in right around 105 + or - a couple depending on the day. Do you play the B or the R? The way I understand it, the R will feel softer but spin is similar between say the Bxs and the Rxs?

I’m in the same camp as you, I’m either side of 105 depending on the day. My plan is to pick up a sleeve of each and do some side by side testing on Trackman before spring. I’ll post some numbers once I get a chance.

Rick from TGW did reviews of each of the 4 new balls. He said he’s at 100 SS and should fit into the R models. But he said the Tour BX was his favorite based on liking a firmer feel, plus his numbers were just as good with the BX. I’m anywhere from 100-103, so I’ve always wondered which ones I “should” fit with better. So if you’re anywhere around 100, probably worthwhile testing both variations.

I think because it spins as much as the XS but ball speeds are 3-4 mph higher off the driver. According to TXG anyways

I can’t remember who I remember putting information out but they said X and XS would be available in yellow if they are received well in Japan.

The previous yellow was fine. I don’t know who is looking for what with that.

A close friend of mine works for Bridgestone and I was fit for my ball. I swing anywhere from 98 to 103 with driver and I was fit into B X.

It was explained to me that swing speed is a large piece of their fitting, but not the end all be all. Other big factors include AoA, launch angle, side spin, club path and face angle.

Because I hit up a couple of degrees with a slight inside to out path the B X was the best fit for me and number two fit was B XS.

In my case RX balls were not a good fit.

how are these balls holding up? I felt the 2019 balls were awesome and would last for multiple rounds. Any info would be great especially since we can find the 2019 models crazy cheap. Thanks in advance and hit em well!

One round in with the 2020 bx and the durability is great. Straight flight and good distance. Putting seemed a bit soft for my tastes but I can survive!

I have played Pro V for several years so I can not compare to previous Tour BX. That being said, I would say it is more durable the last 2019 Pro V1.

Hardly noticeable, definitely not as extreme as B330 to BX. It felt a bit spinnier off driver than 2019's but again nothing too crazy.

Played 18 with the new Tour B X today. Windy and cool, ~50 F all day. I’ll say I honestly think the new X is noticeable better then the ‘19 for me. Same great performance in the wind, long off the tee but where I found it really shined was from 110yds in and especially in the 70yds and in range. Felt much softer hitting chips and pitches and seemed to spin a ton more. Little softer off the putter face as well. I think for me the XS would spin too much. Needless to say the Tour B X will be my ball for 2020.
