The scorecard from my last round of golf played with my dad. He started getting dementia shortly after and could not play anymore. He died years later. Neither of us realised it was the last round when we walked off the green.

My Tei3 NP2 putter and the glove, ball I holed out with and score cards from when I passed my PAT's. Went in blind with the putter as the Redwood I was using previously I lost all confidence in. Means a bit more doing it as a 30 yr old then who was a 13+ capper 2 years previously.

Definitely a set of Epon Af-703 that belonged to my late father. Had them fitted for me and think of him every time I play.

I am guessing this will have a lot of clubs in this thread. For me BeCU Ping Eye 2's I acquired from my semi pro when he went on to tinkering with other clubs in the mid 90s.

In HS in the late 80's I lusted after the pings but could not afford them. Golf was just a game, no adult pressures or real world issues, just go and play.

May not sound like much but I was too young to appreciate what he did for me as a kid. He grew up in the south and as a black man was not not allowed on many a golf course, yet he never flinched to teach any kid, especially this yappy white one, the basics of the game.

I am eternally grateful he saw me the same as I saw him: just a person who loved golf. I just wish I could go back in time as an adult with my game and a few buck in my wallet, and play him strait up: he loved to gamble and I would have loved to lose a few matches to him just to watch that graceful swing again :)

Tiger’s signature on my members pass from the 95 or 96 NCAAs at the Honors Course in TN. He won by a bunch, but I still remember the sound of him hitting a 2-iron. Never heard anything like it in 25 yrs of golf.

A few years ago my wife and I took a trip to Scotland for my 40th birthday. We stayed and played in St. Andrews, and then went up to Inverness and played Dornoch and a few others. I have kept every scorecard, tee, pencil, yardage book from each of the courses we played. It was an amazing trip, hopefully not "once in a lifetime," but who knows when or if I will get back there. It really was a special place and anybody who is really into golf has to experience it at least once.

I've got two: My uncle has worked in print media forever and gets to go to a lot of different courses. He picked up a hat for me from The Masters and I've tucked it away with the idea that I'll get there someday, too. The other is a souvenir stuffed tiger from the PGA Championship at Medinah which I gave to my son. I've put that one away, too.

My grandfather's putter.

It's an old rusty Wilson Sam Snead cut down to about 31", pretty dinged up with a cracked grip. He died when I was 5, so it's the only golf-related thing I have that links me to him. On weekends he caddied at a segregated country club that he wouldn't have been allowed to join. He loved the game, but only got to play at dusk when the members were off the course. According to my dad his clubs were a random assortment of clubs that either didn't get claimed from the lost & found, or whatever he was given by the members. Not sure the origin on the putter (how my grandfather got it), but it's the one club that I'll probably never part with.

I'll get some pics of it later.

Thought on this a little while. And I have more than I thought. ( isn’t that always the case ).

My grandfather who raised me ran heavy equipment and worked under the golf course architects Tom Jackson and Russell Breeden. Mostly Breeden , but the two intertwined quite a bit. My grandfather was the guy who shaped tees and green complexes exclusively, and stayed behind to get grass started on both. I have a photograph of me sitting on a giant Green Terex tractor while he shaped a par 3 on the front of Burlingame CC in sapphire valley NC . It was early 1985 so I’d have just turned 4. That picture is great because I remember the day it was taken. We had drove up to pick him up on a Friday evening for the weekend off. And he put me in the seat with him to “ make another pass “ as he’d say . One of my larger regrets regarding him is that he never played the game , nor did I until recently. So he never got to see me hit a shot , and we never played together. But. He did love to watch on TV. So he’s where I get my love of TV golf from. Watched chi chi and jack and Mr Palmer after his death I discovered a large box full of blue prints for courses that he helped build. Original hand drawn and very large. Some 5-6 feet across. These were the things he used to build the tees and greens. Some with dirty finger prints. Some with water stains. But all I’m very nice patina shape. Mostly SC NC and Virginia courses. I have complete prints of over 30 courses. my albatross ball. 1st hole home course. Par 5. Cut dogleg On a big windy down wind day. and dunked a pitching wedge from 140 or so. cameron GSS putter that a mentor of mine gave me. Long story that I won’t tell. But it spent years in a sock in a drawer ( the head ) with a broken neck. He gave it to me to have repaired and then use. So In short. I was able to have the neck repaired and the putter fit to me perfectly. Something that I’ll never forget. It’s not about the value of the putter. But the value seen in me.

KQGBR16NVFZJ.jpgThis is a Daiwa 3W from sometime in the early 80s.

My dad won it in some tournament and it was a staple in his bag for the rest of his life. He'd have fit in well around here as he went through clubs like nobody's business - thanks for passing that on, pops - but that right there was always in his bag. "The Black Snake" he called it. And man, he never failed to stripe that thing.

Well I sent a letter to Arnold Palmer when I was a kid and he sent a reply. That letter is framed and I don't look at it much anymore but will keep it forever.

I also have picture of Arnie taken with my wife and me in 1983 at a charity affair. I remember waiting in a room with a few other folks for Arnie to walk in. I will remember always how nervous I was, basically unable to speak to my hero. When we did meet I really couldn't talk a lot so my wife took over. I was able to carry on a conversation with Winnie though. I think Arnie liked meeting my wife better than me which I can fully understand.

Divot repair tool from my first real "home course." The course closed down unexpectedly a few years ago, leaving us all wanting just one more go at it. It was an awesome course and a links course in Tennessee at that. It was called The Links at Novadell. They had a great staff, lots of awesome tournaments, and huge demo days. So many great memories there. All that's left is the divot tool.

Easiest way to list them is this link. https://www.golfadvisor.com/architects/2838-russell-breeden/

as for the blueprints. Sad to say. I’ve still not catalogued all of them. One of those “ when I get time “ things. But soon. I have a sunroom addition on the house thats 80% finished. Once I get closer to interior paint and trim , I plan to have one or a couple of the big ones matted and framed. The room is 23x 14. So perfect long wall to hang a 5 ft long frame on.
