New I500/I510?

Recommended Posts

I don’t have pictures to back it up, but I’ve owned two sets of i210’s. The first was purchased right when they were released and showed immediate wear. The second was purchased at the beginning of this summer and hardly shows any wear after a full season. I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Didn’t realize Ping possibly made a change to the finish but that makes sense.

I have a set of Glide 2.0 Stealth in backup and have had them for 2 full seasons and they look miles better than a set of New Level irons I've got and much, much better than most other dark finish irons I had seen in the past. Ping's finishes are usually on point.

I'll have to post pics of my 410's. Almost a full season and they still look great. Same finish.

possibly. but whatever they did with the G700 is terrible. I am not sure it is the same finish. If so, maybe they improved it by then.

I just hope that whenever they bring the replacements for the i210's that they build a little more forgiveness into the 4 and 5 irons.

i wanted so much for the i210's to be great. Spent a day moving my Aerotech shafts over to my new set of 210's from my E1's and then 2 days later spent a day moving them back and selling the 210's.

Loved the 7,8.9 and was 50/50 with the 6 iron, but the 4 and 5 iron...yuk...I've got a set of Hogan Apex PC's (circa 1988 i think) that are more forgiving than the 210's.

Love the 4 and 5 iron in my E1's and the 4 and 5 in the i20's and i15's were better than the 210's.

In their defense they do however wear quickly into a nice even patina and then basically stop showing wear .

So they look look like crap quick then never age. Lol.

I hope the i510 will have the face technology of the G710 but the back shaped like the Blueprint and G410 Crossover so the i510 long irons can blend with the Blueprint.

I played one round yesterday with the 0211’s and they weren’t my favorite. I like the i500’s better. Played well with them today. Sticking with them. I recommend them. They cut through the turf well and still pretty long. Just on a bad day, they can hurt me. That’s more of the swing, not the club.

I just kept hearing great things about the 0211’s. I wouldn’t say they are much more forgiving than the i500’s.

The G710 demo I'm hitting is fantastic, but want to see an i510 before pulling the trigger. Does anyone have strong intel that there will be a summer 2020 release for the i510 (whatever it is)?

I like the i500 except for the sound., it's plenty forgiving for my current game (probably more forgiving than my i210s) - but I'm aging and won't mind playing something easier going forward.

I'm told the i210 is definitely not being updated this year based on the Ping concept of not releasing a new version until they have something better.

I have nothing new to report but I would imagine it's pretty much a done deal that an i500 and i210 replacement are coming. Ping has a strong 2 year cycle on all i-series products in recent memory from i5-now. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to beat out the i210 now given they've likely had 2-2.5 years to improve on it. My bet is still on an i510 that mimics the improvements of the G710, stealth finish, slight reduction in size, and improvement in feel and back cavity.
