Cobra Shaft Adapters F6 F7 F8 F9 , interchangeable old new

The old Cobra Series F6,F7,F8 had their Loft Printed on the Adapter within a range of 3° plus Draw Settings. For example the F8 - 9-12°. Looking at the new F9, which came out in 9° and 10.5° , the adapter has -1,5 to +1,5 on it. That would mean that it is still the same range. My thought/question is if the " old" generation were always 10.5° .Same with the hybrids and fairwaywoods. Is it always the same and the loft is set by the clubhead ?

I came up with that because i want to put my F8 shaft in my F9 and would also try to put the fw shaft in the driver because its shorter.

The loft is set in the club head. For example, if you have the 9* F9 head and set the F8 adapter to its lowest setting, it should play 7.5. Alternately, its highest setting should play 10.5 regardless of what the number on the adapter says. Loft is determined by the head.

Same adapter, different markings. The F9 and SZ heads are loft specific 9, 10.5, and 12 for driver.

The only screw that I'm aware of having a different length is the LTD.

 

I've owned all of the heads from F6 through SZ (except for the F7) and had no issues with the length of the screw other than the LTD, which is shorter.

 

That said I generally keep the screw in the head and don't swap it between heads.

I bought an F9 fairway adapter with the +/-1.5 + draw settings (rather than the the specific loft settings of the older models) which had a shorter screw length.

 

It's aftermarket though and item description was Cobra King F9 Speedback FW Fairway Wood Adaptor Sleeve.

 

Think care is needed with this.

Be careful with aftermarket Cobra tips.  I used one that lacked a cushioning ring inside the opening.  It's been a while but I think it was just solid aluminum instead.  yeah it cracked the shaft after a while.  Make sure whatever you get has a plastic ring inside.  In this respect I like some of the other brands better because they use a collared ferrule that even the aftermarket gets right.

Bought a shaft for my Radspeed fairway wood. But the adapter is a LH driver adapter with 10.5° as standard. If I want to lower my 5 wood to lowest setting how should I dial it in?

If you are lefty, then you would go to the lowest loft setting on the adapter. If you are righty, then go to the highest setting since it is opposite for the opposite handed adapters.  If you are righty, let me know, I may have a couple of right-handed wood adapters  to trade for the left handed adapter (my kid is lefty and could use it)
