TOUR AD VR

I have tinkered around with the VR since it arrived in my shop and I really have nothing bad to say about it. It is a stiffened up DI or a slightly stiffer IZ. (Indoors) I cant get it to be overly spinny and i also havent had any issues with hooks. Maybe the occasional slight draw. Flatter Traj then i got from IZ/DI. Feel is pretty good. Has that distinctive GD feeling and kick.

Thanks for the feedback. Where does it fall with launch characteristics and kick point compared to DI? Haven't had a chance to hit the IZ yet either.

VR is very much like the IZ, just a few tweaks. The DI goes much softer in the mid and has a lot of kick. The TP is lower launching, has a softer butt and stiffer tip.

The VR and IZ will feel more like the TP than the DI. The IZ gave similar numbers to the DI but without the pronounced kick.

Any more on the VR? Just picked up an IZ in a Rogue fairway and it looks to be very good. More on course testing. A slightly stiffer tipped version of the IZ in a driver sounds perfect.

I'd be interested in hearing what you think of the IZ in a fairway when you get a chance to test it out more.

I play the IZ in my driver and 4 wood. Love this shaft in the 4 wood. Gets the ball up nicely off the turf, mid-high trajectory. I use it on short par 4's off the tee as well. Also use the IZ in my driver. I had my most consistent year of driving last year with it, tipped 1" in a Rogue. I'm interested in seeing what the VR can do, hearing good things about this shaft. I compared the TP, IZ and DI last year and found the IZ to be the best for me. I would like to compare the VR to the IZ just out of curiosity.

This is exciting to hear as I just placed my order for an AD IZ in driver and fairway yesterday.

What's the deal with this shaft? I'm looking to switch out my AD-DI 7x into something a touch firmer. I've ruled out the TP as I feel it had too much of a left tendency. Did some digging on the new VR but haven't really found anything substantial. Help me out here!

If you're looking for a firmer DI, then without question, the IZ is the shaft to try (same high-launch low-spin profile as DI, but made from the upgraded Torray T1100 pre-preg composite, making it firmer). VR will launch lower (mid-launch) but retain the same low-spin stiff-tip section. In terms of "feel" the IZ and VR both feel more "beefed-up" (because of that T1100), but another option to consider is the TP, which still feels smooth, like the DI, but is a slightly lower launch (mid-launch), but also made from T1100.

If you're interested in testing any of these shafts, check us out! We send premium demo shafts direct to your door!

Hope that helps! ;)

Sincerely,

Hey Scott!

Yes, the VR is nice, and feels very similar to the IZ, with the major difference being that will launch a little lower.

We should be getting some soon for you to demo! ;)

How is the golf team looking this year?

Best,

-Phil

Wish we had some one who could translate Japanese, and while I definitely prefer an X-Y axis personally as a visual-learner, not sure I agree with this one based on this diagram below--direct from Pros Choice/Graphite Design.

Anyone compare Ventus to Tour Ad VR?

I want to know this as well, I am torn between the two as well, I can not hit the Tour VR as nobody around me has one. Ventus is smooth and long but I heard the VR is awesome as well.

I just got the Ventus in stock and there is a serious power struggle going on in my bag right now because of it.

I have the VR. It’s a great shaft that really fits my swing well. I am swinging the 60 in X, SS is typically around 110 +/- a couple. It is a super smooth feeling shaft that maintains stability. I came from a Diamana D+ LTD 70 X and this shaft is a much better fit. If your swing speed is similar to mine you may want to tip it a bit. I tend to overdraw it from time to time and I think tipping it would have corrected that, but I can’t be certain on that...it’s probably just my swing. After playing a few rounds with it a bought one for my 3 wood as well. It’s very good in that head as well!

I switched AD-IZ 8x to VR 7x. VR flight is a touch lower, but more control. The VR firmer mid section is apparent. VR kicks less, but just enough. VR has more control / tighter dispersion... like a low/mid shaft, yet the flight is upper mid/high. The VR is a perfect blend of control and launch. I built a 6s bought out of japan for a client that was tad soft to flex and had to tip it 1/2in to get it to 256cpm, perhaps a Japan model is softer??. My un-tipped 7x is playing true to flex @ D3, 46' logo down is 266cpm....prob 270-275 shorter with a tad of tipping. I am hitting down the middle with 'excellent' dispersion. I think GD have the profile stiffness of lower, mid, handle just right. Hitting bombs! Paired with ST190 is a 'stellar combo'

I recently got VR shaft and I’m loving it.

My SS is around 105 the shaft picked up consistent club speed and feel pretty smooth. It also gave me better dispersion and higher launch I needed. Carry was def increased.

I have tensei pro white and fujikura tour atmos black but I do like this one over what i had.

I will just sell it everything this time.
