2020 Driver Trackman Data (Taylormade, Callaway, Cobra, Ping,)

That wasn't specified as they said "shafts" as in more than one shaft. Further, he said each player will be fitted into the correct combination. Again, that would mean not using the same shaft for each head. What's more, they would need to try a variety of shafts to find the best combo for that specific player. So again, I was simply asking if they noticed a shaft that was spinning less with the Speedzone. Unless they never tested any other shafts on the speedzone and simply fit a shaft on the speedzone which was fit for a different head. If that is the case, that's fine - but it'd be pretty easy to say that, no?

Man SIM is a low spin monster. I really want to compare SIM 10.5* vs SIM Max 9*. I suspect on center hits the SIM is going to be a bullet machine but maybe over the course of a season, the forgiveness of MAX helps me lower scores a little more.

JT - Do you have any OG Epic SZ data in your archives? I know it won't be apples to apples but I'm trying to decide if I can justify a fitting and upgrading up to a 2020 driver over my SZ.

Okay, so let's break it down then.

I asked: "Regarding the Speedzone, did you have other shafts that helped get the spin a little lower, but perhaps didn't give the best results in terms of dispersion or solid hits?"

The response:

"There are always multiple options for every player. Assuming I wanted to play one head in particular, the shaft choice might be completely different than with another head. " That didn't answer the above question. I asked if they tried any other shafts that offered lower spin in the speedzone.

"The key is making sure you are fit into something that not only allows you to deliver the head consistently to the ball, but also produces excellent launch parameters. " That didn't answer the above question.

"This is almost never a stock shaft, at stick length, with stock tipping, swingweight, grip, etc. A good stock shaft to me, means something you can sell off for a decent amount once you install the correct option for the player." That doesn't answer the above question, nor does it have anything to do with what I asked.

I'll go a step farther for you. He could have said "We didn't test any other shafts with the speedzone" "Yes, there were shafts that offered lower spin, but the contact and dispersion wasn't as good" "No, no other shaft we tested spun less"

Those are examples of actual answers to the question.

Perhaps you are not aware..Tollbros is a seller of shafts, tour heads, etc. When you ask specific questions about a shaft they (JT) tends to answer in terms that don't give shaft advice. They have a service where you can pay for shaft advice.

So pony up the cash and you'll get your answer. Otherwise, you should just post a thread asking about what others have seen in the Cobra...

Not only that, but they specifically spell out what the intent of the test as and what occurred.

From the OP.

"All drivers will be set up with a custom shaft and fitted specs for each player in the test. The purpose of this test is to compare heads on very well struck shots with shaft product that is fitted to each player. "

If you read further along. Not only was the shaft the same used for each player, but each was built to the same length/swing-weight and each head was measured such that the face angle and loft was nearly identical, such that the data is purely how the each head performed with all other variables held constant (for the given swing speed).

Yeah, I noticed that.

I wasn't interested in a particular shaft, nor did I ask that they tell me any shafts they used. I'm not trying to get some secret info out of them so I can go out and buy it on my own. It was just a genuine question. But I'll go ahead and claim I'm an idiot and this is above my head.

Ok great. It just didn't seem to be getting the interest we expected so no reason to continue if nobody cares. Haha. I'll put up the next block early this evening.

Also everyone remember, online evaluation with purchase is free, and we do sell all major retail brands, do custom builds, and will price match any authorized retailer's non sale pricing.

How hard is it to understand that each person came into the HEAD test with a shaft that was previously fitted for them to use in each head? Maybe the previously part would help the helpless.

For the reading impaired, just think of it it terms of each person using their favorite shaft to test these heads. It will lower your blood pressure a bit.
