This post is well overdue but here it is!

Before Christmas I got my new weapon from Kari, a sister putter to my very unique L-Blade flange. The new putter came with steroids, made with a nice St.St. that Kari got from Italy (should I say ISS?), Marine Satin finish, naked (no alignment marks), Stability shaft and a Garsen Max grip. 34", 365g, 3º and the lie, well, I would say between 69º and 71º because the shape of the sole allows to adjust the lie to wherever it is comfy for me.

Feel is great, the deep milling makes it soft, almost as good as my carbon steel blade. Long putts is where this stick is a gem and the shaft makes the difference. The putter is very forgiving and accurate, I know that heaps of people are scared of blades like this but Kari makes them exceptionally well as it is perfectly balanced at address despite of having a full toe hang. I'm impressed how it performs. It is easy to align regardless the lack of marks. Clean and simple with an artistic sole. It makes a lot of putts and my rounds couldn't be better in this new year 2020.

Love that! I will agree, Kari's milling does make the SS putter feel as soft as carbon... I have been impressed with my Sensor's feel.

If you like a soft feel, nothing beats Kari's extreme deep mill... even in SS. That was actually my issue with Lajosi putters in the early days. I do have his Carbon Damascus now with the horizontal mill which i think is mid depth.. not sure... but it doesn;t feel as soft as his extreme deep mill (and I love this putter). For me, this is a good thing as I find too soft a feel robs feel if that makes sense. Your mileage will of course vary.

I’m entertaining the idea of purchasing a custom Bayzie. I’m a sucker for the true spiral milling, but I was debating between carbon and stainless, and would prefer stainless. Does anyone else have a true spiral milled stainless? If so, is it overly firm since the face is essentially flat? I don’t mind a little firm, but I once had a fine-milled 303SS Gauge Design that was like putting with a firm metal block. I definitely do not want a Lajosi that feels like that. Any input (even just in general on Lajosi’s stainless feel/sound) would be appreciated.

A custom could take a couple months between build and shipment depending on how busy Kari is I would guess... I ordered a DD201 original and it was about a week from payment to my door. I am fully in love with it, too. Kari's prices are more than fair for the quality he puts out. My new favorite builder....

I think Kari's production and delivery schedule is somewhat dependent on the specifications of the order. For example, welded necks, intricate engravings, particular finish types etc... may take longer than an an order for "mostly stock" specifications.

Here's my remaining lajosi. I added clear coat to rust proof it except on the putter area.

Quick Question. How does the V-Groove millied face feel? Would you say it is softer than the circular milling?

This is the firmest of all the Lajosi's I've owned. As mentioned earlier, one of my issues with the earlier Lajosi's was with the deep mill.... its too soft and robs playing feel... for me. The V-Groove on mine looks also to be mid depth and not deep and that will affect the feel most.

Thanks for the input. I should be receiving my putter within the next few weeks. I was hoping the V-Groove was more firm than the deep mill. Excellent!

I'm sure you are aware but the deep milled face will be the softest option available so you don't need to worry about the v-groove being as soft or softer. If I had to guess, I'd say the v-groove face will likely fall in between the mid and ultra fine, as far as feel.

I have a couple on order as well. You'll have to share some pics once you get it, would love to see!

I know Kari is battling the same coronavirus impact as everyone else, so he's had to make some adjustments in his shop to meet local law requirements, so you can likely expect a slight delay on deliveries due to that.

What model did you order? What type of metal?

I know he is making adjustments but I just got my "in works" pics. It should be with getting the neck welded this week and then the finishing touches. I went with the KLP4. I will definitely post some pics once I get it.
