I had the same question a few months ago and after asking a Jones rep, I went with the Stripeshow. The main reason? The vinyl is very easy to clean and is perfect for all the wet morning rounds I play. Also, I assume you’re talking about a Players bag as the other option and note that that bag does not have an umbrella holder, whereas the Stripeshow does. One more “pro” for the Stripeshow.

As for the water bottle, I put mine in the left larger compartment on the “front” of the bag (handle side).

Thanks for the input. I am looking at the silver/white original in addition to the stripes how. The strap on those looks much more comfortable than the player’s seres. Those bags are easy to carry and I don’t take a lot of unnecessary items. I was thinking about the water bottle in the front pocket and get a small pouch for tees, coins, divot tool.

Looking for a new carry bag. Coming from a Ping Moonlite, which I like, but I find the open a bit tight. When I walk I just use 8 clubs, but it looks pretty stuffed and in some occasions it is difficult to put the clubs in and out again.

I really like to look of the Players Series and here my questions:

I have notices there are 001, 002 and 003. What are the differences? Only colors or other features?Do you have any idea if a refreshed model or new color option are hitting the market in 2020?

I have had a few Jones bags along the way and so far, my heather gray players is the best as far as club tangle goes. I thought the 2 divider system would be a little weird but I carry 13, have carried 14, without issue. It came with the rubber coated strap it is pictured with but I opted for the more padded strap like the Originals have. Since putting that strap on, it has been a million times more comfortable to carry. I have no complaints about the Players Series, fantastic bag.... even works well when riding.

When I bought my jones stand bag, my friends couldnt stop talking about it for a whole month. Eventually, one of my friends bought his own jones bag. I love my jones bag; its perfect for anyone who plays golf.

I'm surprised you're having problems with the Moonlite with only 8 clubs. I've had the prior generation Moonlite for years and use it with up to 11 clubs. I find it helps that my Moonlite has an internal divider to somewhat reduce club tangle. The Jones bags have no internal divider at all. I'm not a big fan, I bought a Utility Stand a couple of years ago and it was a complete disaster for me. Nothing but club tangle and never got comfortable with the straps - but it did look good.

Help me decide guys. I can’t decide if I should go with the utility trooper or the vessel players 2.0. I read a lot of pros and cons with both. The two that stand out with the jones is the club tangle and stand lever if you put it in a push cart or a cart.

Played my first round with my utility trouper today in Michigan and I didn’t have a single issue with the bag twisting or the exposed stand mechanism causing any worry. Club tangle was non existent and I use midsize grips. It actually has a nice pass through for the cart strap and a hard plastic base underneath in that area so the bag can be attached nice and securely without collapsing the bag. I was extremely pleased and looking forward to more rounds with it including some on a push cart as well as carried.

Frankly it is not tangle, it is the difficulty of putting them back after the shot. They stuck against the other grips and have hard time to put them in.

Got black players series a week ago and today I have played my first 18. Coming from 2017 ping moonlite.

it looks great, it feels lighter and very well balanced and it definitely fits mote clubs, although I don’t need it. When I walk I play 9 clubs. Very happy

Wow. Mine got here overnight. Granted, I live about 8 miles away, but that was damn fast.

That's with 12 clubs, and I think that'll play fine. My 5/6i are busted at the moment. 14 should be fine too, but it wouldn't shock me at all of that were tight with some tangling at times.

Looking forward to getting it out on a round!

I believe you can do customization on Jones bags. They have a drop down menu for that. This one is from Chattanooga Country Club.

Anyone have any issues with the metal plate in the Players sticking into your back? It's my only gripe with the bag. Assuming I can tighten the strap up to fix it.

I almost pulled the trigger on a trooper and some other stuff, but I've only had the Players a few weeks. Too much very good sale!

In my case I had some issues if you don’t pay much attention how you place the clubs in and the shafts could push against the back if you Carry it cross sides

Not yet... I actually had Jones swap out the rubber coated strap for a regular one without the rubber. Had my back not started acting up I would have been carrying this thing every round.. It has been the most comfortable carry bag I have owned yet. Far less club tangle than my Hoofer Lite, too. Have not noticed the metal plate issue at all.... I would try adjusting the strap to see if that helps for sure...

Yeah, eventually. I think they did a 50% off on BF and missed that one so jumped on this one. My brother, friend, and I all have one but different colors. Loved it for my round walking on Friday.

That’s one awesome looking bag. Do you walk mostly and if so is the weight manageable? I’ll be using my bag for a 9 club set when I walk and 13/14 when I ride/push. Want to start walking more....

Really depends. Mostly walking right now but some courses in SLC are just a pain to walk. Long and lots of elevation change.

Says the bag was 5 lbs online but it feels lighter that my mizuno bag. The straps are thick padding that sit nice on your back. Best stand bag I’ve had so far for walking. Really happy with my purchase.

Have my carry bag coming in today, along with zipper pouch! I can't wait to use it. With Covid restrictions, I've been walking more and it's really ignited my passion for the game again!
