I have the SZ Xtreme in the bag (I got it off a trade) along with the SZ 3 wood. The Xtreme is super, super forgiving. But it does spin a bit more than the SZ head with the same shaft. I was also consistently around 108mph club head speed with the SZ and consistently around 105.5 wit the Extreme last night on the launch monitor. I have a white SZ incoming to test and see which head I like more. They will get a big test as I am headed to Florida next week!

I finally caved and ordered a matte Xtreme. I loved my G400 Max performance but never the look. I always said if I could find a driver that was as easy to hit as the max but looked cleaner I had to get it. Soon as I read the OPs review, I took it as a sign!

I disagree. I was actually disappointed with the sz extreme. I just couldn't get the spin down no matter what shaft I tried. The regular sz was much lower spinning for me and it actually felt a lot better. I am going to pair it with a small batch hzrdus smoke yellow ( i like the counterbalance). I was getting 165+ ball speed while swinging 114 mph which is really fast for me. The extreme was close in ball speed but the spin was 2800+, while the regular sz was in the low 2000's. I ordered the sz

After hitting the Speedzone inside for the first time today for about an hour and a half, this ^ was my final impressions also. Sound/ feel better with the F9 but for me the Speedzone gets the big edge over the F9 on forgiveness and dispersion.

Mine arrived today and all I can say is WOW! I was tracking my data on a MEVO (not always correct I know) but I was averaging 13 yds more than my m5 and I haven't even converted my aldila tour atx green (the tour only version and it's a spin killer). I am so excited to get my real shaft in it and see how it performs. I honestly think the regular speedzone is miles away better than the extreme

For anyone wondering about the Speedzone vs the LTD here are my numbers from yesterday since my LTD Pro head arrived just in time for my session.

Details:

Numbers are from a GCHawk using Vice Pro golf ballsSpeedzone 9* head, Tour AD TP-7S, 44.5"LTD Pro head, Rogue Silver 110-S, 44.5"I didn't have the club tracking dots on the LTD otherwise we could compare those. I'm working on getting the contact location higher on the face, my miss is low, with the SZ right now so the spin numbers are definitely not optimal. However, as you can see, the SZ does generate noticeably more speed than the LTD Pro. The better launch numbers equalize things. New photo by John Vincent

I picked up an Extreme in 10.5 with a Helium 5. The first 2 range sessions and 9 holes were rough, the occasional good strike but most were low, hooking shots. A simple move to reduce the loft to 9.5 not only turned the hooks into a soft draw but increased the launch and improved the sound. In my hands the club is night and day different in 10.5 vs 9.5.

I’ve found Cobra’s tend to move left on me so I typically go 10.5 and loft it down to 9.5 or 9. I had the F9 and enjoyed it but sold it stupidly when I went through my “pretend Titleist sponsorship.”

This is VERY close to the G400 Max except it sounds and looks better. This thing just launches the ball with ease and thus far has been very, very forgiving. My silly high toe miss just goes up and out, no hook. I almost feel I could go 9 and loft it down to 8 or maybe even 7.5. I’m currently trying a AD-BB and a Diamana W series.

Awesome driver so far, no regrets. May even pick up an F9 as a back up since they are so cheap now and I have shaft option!

That's great to hear! Thanks for sharing. The weather report now looks like rain and storms on demo day. I REALLY like to hit a club outside, but I'm leaning toward ordering one based on an indoor demo. A Tour Length Extreme is calling my name!

My summary of the three drivers is as follows:

I only F9 with hazardous smoke black shaft. Love the driver first great driver I’ve owned in more than a decade. However I had to loft down 1° to take out some of the draw bias from it and misses off the toe especially high toe and low misses. were very penalized.

I had a comparison between the three drivers in a launch monitor. The extreme model definitely was slightly more forgiving however I saw a jump in spin by anywhere from 5 to 700. I was seeing average spin rates of 2900 with my ball speeds of approximately 145 to 150. By comparison the speed zone at the same loft and shaft settings were showing me spin rates of about 22 to 2300 and ball speeds were up bye 3 miles an hour averaging 148 to 153 miles an hour.

On the course my experience with the speed zone versus my F9 are that the speed zone I can keep the loft at 10.5 because even at that loft it has a slight fade bias and is still not hitting it any higher than my 9.5 F9. Additionally, the speed zone when hit low on the face does not spin too much and lose distance and does not give me these terrible duck hooks when hit towards the toe.

so if you don’t mind the extra spin or need the extra spin and want forgiveness go extreme. If you don’t mind a slight draw bias and are usually always in the centre of the face you might as well save money and go F9. But if you want to hit it long have very good forgiveness and a slight fade by is the speed zone is definitely the driver to get.

I went from a maverick sub zero 9 degree to a speed zone extreme 10.5

extreme actually sits more open address than the maverick which suits my eye better. The sz extreme spins a bit more and launches quite a bit more which is what I was after

overall the Callaway is a little longer but the cobra is a lot straighter

I have no regrets
