It is the same shaft as the white, just with a paint job. You can order the black shafts from Fuji Dealers.

Hi All, I currently have the Hzrdus Smoke 60 Stiff in my Cobra F9 and have been feeling like it is too boardy for me. My strike consistency has been pretty poor with the shaft as well. I went to my local fitter and tried my F9 with the stock Tour Spec Blue 6s and loved the feel of it, but spin was slightly high. Unfortunately, they never had the 6s or 7s Black for me to try but did have the 6s Black in a M6 (Although, I was told this was not a Tour Spec version of the 6s Black). It performed similar to the Blue Tour Spec 6s with slightly lower spin.

 

Basically, my question is would I be better with a Black 6s or 7s? 7s seems to be easier to come by on eBay etc but I was unsure if the 7s would be more similar to my existing Hzrdus Smoke? Any advice would be great, this is my first time really exploring using any other shaft than stock.

If you like the lighter weight tier, go with the Black 6S. I'm sure the 7S isn't much different at all in terms of what it does to spin/ball flight - but will be a bit different in feel.

Likely just weight. I hit both and felt like I could get more swings at decent SS out of the 6S. I could for sure play the 7S, but that drive up 18 (or 36) might not be as easy at that weight.

Gonna bump this thread...

The ATMOS came stock with the F9 and ST190 last year so I didnt really give it much of a look. Mann was I wrong.

Just wanna say that the ATMOS Tour Spec is an amazing shaft. Picked up a 6 S and between the Diamana BF 60 S and the Fujikura Pro 2.0 6 S the dispersion, control, and feel are all crazy good compared to the others with the same distance.

Thanks for the shout. ATMOS TS really exceeded our expectations and still performs very well in our lineup for a lot of golfers. It is still very popular on Tour (including winning this year at Pebble, contending at Riv) and we can't get it out of some guys' bags! :)

How does the black 6s and 6x compare? I’m currently playing 110 aldila Rogue Silver 60 stiff (69 grams) tipped .5” in my driver with 105 swing speed. Looking for something slightly lower launching and slightly less spin. I play a 70 stiff (77 grams) silver tipped 1.5” in my 3 wood and love that set up. also have a atmos blue 8 hybrid stiff in my hybrid which I like a lot. Very smooth but stable

the Atmos black 6x has closer specs to my Silver 60. 69 grams and 3.4 tq vs 69 grams and 3.3 tq of my rogue silver. The Atmos black 6s is lighter at 65 grams but same torque. Going in a cobra F9 head

how does the atmos black 6s/6x compare to the rogue silver 60 stiff and should I get 6s tipped 1” or 6x untipped?

Between the black 6s and 6x i will share my experience. my Driver SS is about 99-101 on the day i got fitted. Spot on.

I tried this shaft (on a mizuno ST190) without looking at the specs. But they started me in the 6s. I tried the 6x and the 7s. Without knowing. Looked at the numbers and my fitter showed me the 6x gave me the best numbers.

This translated on the course very well (in a Mizuno GT180, so even with different heads the results held up). I hit 11 for 14 fairways on my first time out with it on a course i never played that had some of the most challenging fairways i have played on. It is the first time i felt a shaft was stable for my swing. I didnt lose any yardage on the GT180 head compared to my Ping (even tho my ping has a bad shaft for me, so that might change) I have a smooth tempo but stronger transition. My spin went down (mid to high 2000's) and my dispersion was unlike anything i have ever seen with a driver.

I just ordered another TS 6x to test in my Ping G410 a week later..

cliffnotes: 6x shouldnt be a problem. Comes down to your feel. But it feels like what i expect a stiff to feel. I can't overpower it, and it doesn't over power me. For the first time in my life, i can really go at the swing safely.

I picked up an Atmos Black TS 6S for my Mizuno ST190 in April after trying a few different shafts. Wow is all I can say, what a great shaft. I thought it was going to feel too boardy, but I was wrong...very smooth and stable. My ST190 came with standard Atmos Blue 6s non ts, the Black ts is a way better feeling shaft. Good job Fuji. Other shafts I tried with the 190 wereSpeeder evolution iv 661, AD DI 6S and HZRDUS Smoke.

Does this mean the Black 6x and 7s will play similar? Tip Flex and Butt Flex numbers are the same.

Same experience here.

Problem is that Fuji makes so many good shafts I'm having trouble deciding which one I like haha.

Right now I have the ATMOS TS Black and Pro 2.0 TS in rotation - plus a Ventus Black coming soon. They all perform so well it's tough to decide.

I am loving my Atmos Black still, but it's hard to resist the urge to try the Ventus Black again. The Ventus seemed to swing weight a bit lighter than the Atmos but I recently added some more weight to my driver.

Hard to imagine it would be any noticeably better, the Atmos is stable and feels great.

Is this due to balance point? I had to add lead tape when I switched from ATMOS TS Black to Pro 2.0 TS - was a 1SW point difference-ish.

thanks for the response. Just to clarify since you said the 7 is 79g, the two shafts in the chart I was comparing is the 6 extra stiff and 7 normal stiff which is only 74 grams. The 6 x-stiff and the 7 normal stiff have the same tip flex and butt flex number on your chart and thats the comparison I was looking for. Are you saying those two will play similar with the 7 normal stiff being heavier or the 6 x-stiff and 7 X-stiff play similar with the 7 x-stiff being heavier which is the 79g?
