FIUFNKGP4UUC.jpegi rolled these some today. I liked this one. They have an interesting feel. It’s not harsh or soft just different. But, I don’t think anyone can honestly say they can see the truss in the top picture. I liked it. Would I spend $299 on it? Probably not. Some of the other models are really ugly but this one looks good to me.

Did Scotty sell this design to TM?

I’ve seen these in person and sadly, I can’t unsee them. Didn’t touch it, just looked at them with disgusted curiosity. If you want to have an exclusive putter that no one else in your group has, TM has scratched your itch.

Thick, industrial looking. Lacking any redeeming quality that would even peak my interest.

And again I ask: a putting stroke is the simplest stroke in golf with the least moving parts and not much time to get “offline or out of sync”, why in the hell does there need to be any “technology” in a putter.

Make em: various weight, various lengths and a few different appealing shapes. A few grip choices and that would cover every golfer’s needs.

I really feel for anyone that “Needs” game improvement qualities in a putter.

Makes no sense to me.....

Really bothers me that the truss area is milled, or seemingly looks like it, and the actual head of the putter is very cheap and cast looking and they want $300 for it.

Beyond that I dont think this does hardly anything at all, the new Spider S felt like it was doing a lot more in the forgiveness department that any of the Truss putters.

Your opinion doesn't match any science on moi in putters. Putting is the smallest stroke but very minor changes in rotation and face angle will cause misses at even the shortest distances.

I guarantee that you do not hit the center of your putter consistently. High moi putters are proven to help maintain distance consistency with off-center strikes. High moi helps anyone and everyone at some point in a round.

Truss may be a stretch but saying high moi is silliness is...well, silliness.

Really not that difficult to consistently hit the sweet spot. Set up and green reading are more important to good putting. It's not to say that MOI is junk science......It's Just that practice on a consistent set up, a putter that matches your style stroke and looks good to you and green reading matter more........IMO

I agree that truss doesn't seem to have done much. What I noticed while toying around with them is that truss basically gives a blade or medium mallet putter in a face balanced setup without a double bend shaft. I don't think there's much in moi gains there. It's simply a putter that reduces face rotation. Whether your stroke works with very little rotstion is for you to know and decide. But I didn't see the putters offer anything close to the moi benefits of a spider.

I honestly believe that this approach From Todd Stones - Couture Putters Fitting system - is more helpfull( along with practice and green reading) that GI in putters.

However, since we know that the 6" between the ears is probably the biggest influence, then buying into "technology will help many golfers. After all, Placebo pills have cured cancer....

I'm 42, have been playing since I was 12, play to a + handicap. I have a wife and 2 boys. I get to practice my entire game once a week for about 3.5 hours or I get to play a couple times a month. Moving to a high moi putter has helped my game a lot. I feel I represent the majority of golfers from a "ability to put in practice time", heck, i may even get to practice more than the majority. If you're practicing putting for an hour 4 or 5 times a week then high moi likely doesn't help much. But how many of us are able to do that?

Plus, the shots gained stats suggest that 2 things are best for lowering scores; 3 putt avoidance and better long game. 3 putt avoidance is better with a high moi putter because of distance consistency. That leaves more time for practice to be focused on long game so you hit it closer and stay in play more often.

High moi putters work. Agree that regardless of high moi or not, the putter type needs to match your stroke.

All I will say is putt with them for 5-10 min and see if your mind is changed because mine was. Not saying these are some breakthrough technology or game changing equipment but over the ball and rolling them they aren’t half bad. The cool thing with the TB1 is you get a blade but somewhat the forgiveness and toe hang of a mallet.

Looks aside, rolled these today and they are super stable and felt nearly impossible to pull putts. Had a nice end over end roll and seem to hold the line slightly better than traditional similar head shapes. Considering giving one a test run on the course but the $299 price point is excessive. At $175-199 this would be a home run for TM.

Probably a decent functioning golf club, but just like the GAPR which was also decently functioning, the premium price for non-premium looks thing is probably not going to sell well. Now that I think about it, all of their putters are over-priced for what they are, but they get a lot of TV time on Sundays.

I disagree. People who hit the sweet spot consistently have a hard time understanding how other people can struggle to hit the sweet spot. Good contact is simple for me, and it's super hard for some of the people I've tried to help over the years. Tee drill with chalk line is probably the best way to train sweet spot contact, but I've seen people practice with this drill over and over every day for months and not improve anything about their contact once you take away the constraints. This is why high MOI putters matter for some people.

This design has nothing to do with high MOI. I agree that the High MOI putters help( a little). But there are players who consistently putt out toward the toe/heel and are great putters. It is about practice(consistency) and green reading.

hell, plenty of great players don’t center their irons shots. But they hit the same spot consistently.

Still think these putters will be the “Detour” of TM putters.......and I intended the double entendre.

Heck, the SKS 7 stand alone putter makes sense......but not many people will use em.

Literally the only way to change MOI is to change the design. Someone who is inconsistent with their putting stroke will benefit from a high MOI putter because while their impact position might differ (however small), the putts will go more consistent distances and on a more consistent line.

And you made a pun, not a double entendre
