Sam, any plans for a black finish on the B.2?

Make sure you have your friend send in a remote fitting video to L.A.B. (they are very accurate), so you know what spec he needs as far as lie angle and length. If you find one that is close, L.A,B can change the lie angle by up to one degree (up or down) from how it was manufactured, if you send it back to them in Reno. Also, they can re-shaft to correct length, put on a new grip and re-balance (all for just $100). I had them do this to a used one I found on Ebay, and they did a great job!

Not really. One of the beauties of the B.2 on our end is the simplicity in manufacturing it. Perhaps down the road when our capacity increases.

I will never say never, golf gods don't like that, but I really do believe in Lie Angle Balancing. Its just so smooth and easy, I am a pretty good player and putting is a strength but I feel like Lie Angle Balancing makes me more consistent. I now own 2 LAB putters the 2.1 and the B2, both are great and one of them will be in the bag for a really long time.

I’m a firm believer of “if it looks stupid, but works, it isn’t stupid.” And while this head shape isn’t the most traditional, if the proof is in the pudding that’s all I’m after. My putting has been absolutely dismal as of late and I actually feel this might be what I need to help my confidence. I just put my order in and will report back after I receive it.

After bagging this putter 3 months ago.. went from 3.4 down to 0.9.. I went down so many rabbit holes with putters.. everything felt impossible to stroke. This putter I aim.. the putter won't move of square unless I physically apply a good amount of force to manipulate it.. which in a putting stroke is never applied.. lag putting tales a bit to get used to.

Thanks Scott and Chris. I’ve not had an opportunity but i am hoping a local pro is now a fitting. No rush as of yet as I don’t see anything in my future except simulator golf and the planemate in my basement.

hopefully weather will provide more opportunities but I’m doubtful. First trip is scheduled for 4/2.

I have one of the early DF putters. Not sure how much of a difference there is between it and the 2.1. They look very similar. I still use it in stretches. I have been messing around with broomstick putting. Does anyone have experience with their broomstick putter? I wonder if lie angle balance really applies to a broomstick. Since the lie angle is close to the max allowed, most seem to swing like a pendulum already with minimal torque.

i am also worried about the length. Without having much experience with the broomstick technique, not sure on “my setup’.

According to the company the 2.1 is all new internally and has a better feel. I have both the original and the new 2.1. I can say the DF feels much softer and I have to make longer strokes for distance control. However both are fantastic and hold their lines better than any other putter I’ve tried. I’m a straight back and through putter so they work for me. Have putted much better since I’ve had these. The only issue I’ve had and it was with the original DF was on feel putts (over a 2nd tier) as I felt like I couldn’t hit it hard enough. Was eventually able to get the feel of them and longer putts and now I’m pretty good at long lag putts. Before I struggled from long distance lag putts. 10 footers and in seem very straight forward. Had to learn to take out break at first but now I’ve got the hang of it.

Right now, I'm the best putter I ever was. Tried a used reno 2.1, lie angle was 69. Looks didn't bother me, but my hands where to low, and it made me miss some short ones. Decided to get fitted, and ended up with a 74 lie angle.

 

I am now, never going back to a regular putter. My index dropped, and I'm constantly playing to brake par.

Curious to know for those who've either been fitted remotely or fitted in person... Assuming your previous putter was properly fit to you-how much did your putter specs change going to a L.A.B. putter? Did your lie angle specs change or stay the same?

If you play a bunch at a high level like it looks like you do, its unlikely your specs will be different with our putter than others. Best to do a remote fitting to be sure though. Its super simple

@labgolf would you say the 2L 2m grips are better than the OG press grip? Can it just be cut off and a new 2L grip put right back on?

Grips are a lot about preference of course. I personally still use the OG. I like the oval shape a lot and I don't mind a heavy grip. The 2.M is out most popular. About half the weight of the OG and a more familiar shape. The 1.L is the largest of our offerings and is the same oval shape as the OG but also only 75g. I'd say why not give it a shot. Super cheap experiment!

i’ve always played around 35 inches and 70°. That’s exactly what the remote fitting came out to for me.

I previously had an Evnroll ER3 that was at the stock 70*. Sent in a remote fitting video and it came back that I come through the stroke at 68.5*. Same 33" length on both.

Hey guys, got my directed force putter, pulled the grip off and found this? A rubber stopper? Is this standard or something strange the previous owner did? Never seen it before.

I'm also in the camp of, "never say never", but certainly don't forsee going to anything else besides a L.A.B putter. The tech in these putters from L.A.B. helps me put the ball in the bottom of the hole more consistently than anything else I've ever tried. And since that's the objective of the game, I'm a convert.

That cork is in their to help secure the anchors we use for the hooks and revealer demonstrations. Its likely this was a demo putter from one of our reps. Doesn't mean its any less quality.

Couple of weeks, is generally what they run for turn-around time.

I was able to purchase a used DF 2.1, very excited to try it out.

If things go well I might pick up a B.2 as well.

Make sure you get fit, the online fitting was easy to do and very accurate. Fitting is the key with this putter

You're either living right, or have specs near the norm; that was a nice find. I need specs on the short and flat spectrum, which are much less common, especially used... Oh well, saving my pennies for a new B.2

Well I was able to get out again and roll this on the practice green. Love it and I am getting used to taking the break out. But the lag putts are getting the best of me.

One thing I noticed is I'm putting better with everything now. Maybe it's just me being more aware of what is happening. I'm in a weird spot where my eye is gravitating toward a smaller putter head but the two to three strokes might be worth saving and keeping the DF in the bag. But if I clean up my short game I can leave myself less work on the greens. Maybe the answer is to buy a blād.

I’m now in that camp. It took 4 rounds to get dialed in but now this putter is en fuego.

 

i hit my mark on every putt now. If I miss it’s due to a misread. I highly recommend the stability tour shaft. It feels glorious.

 

note to others: I find that this putter works best with the ball more forward in my stance
