Tm ef wedges

Hi guys

new here so please be nice

i have 52 & 58 tm ef r series tp wedges

Can any 1 confirm these are 0.355 taper tip hosels?

i have pulled the shaft of 1 and certainly looks that way

i have ordered px 7.0 flighted taper shafts for them but want to try soft stepping an 8 iron shaft in them

only shafts of that spec i could get my hands on new are 39”

can some1 shed some light on the trimming of these shafts for this test?

do i need to tip trim? If so how much? Assuming the tipping is only to make these suitable for 8 iron use and then butt trim to wedge length?

any help would be muchly appreciated

You dont tip trim .355 shafts, only .370 parallel shafts. Tatper tips are butt trim only.

If you are going to reshaft golf clubs, especially working with used clubs, contact GolfWorks and get a Multi Golf Shaft ID Gauge for $12. Then you can know for sure.

I can confirm that these are 0.355 tapers, new shafts came today

i have glued them in just now without ferrules and an inch over sized purely for testing, if i need to adjust i can just pull them and retry until im happy with them

iam going to use lead tape on the back of them for swing weighting just now until final build which i will use tip weights and ferrules to keep the clean look

so without tipping these will play ok?

i know tipping tapers is not recommended but i have saw a few ppl doing so and seemed to work ok

You can sometimes tip certain taper shafts up to 3/8" but its not recommended or needed especially in a wedge. If you're going to SS an 8i shaft you are doing it to get a higher flight...why would you tip trim to lower the flight back down? Dont mess with the tip trimming, just install them and butt trim to length.
