Mizzy MP 14 irons... still gaming them?

Just curious if anyone was still gaming these in these days of jacked lofts. These have traditional lofts 50 degree PW as I recall. I still bit my sets a bunch and still am thrilled with how they perform. Still a fantastic club.

They are my backup/travel set but long irons are tough for me to be consistent with. Still Iove them and the lofts are awesome!

I am still playing the mp-29 which I am loving. Still feel it is gappage not the lofts that really dictate it for me

I have a set that I play with quite often. I love the weaker lofts and the fact that they still feel aaaammmmazing!

They still feel so good when you center one, nothing like it. I don't think I will ever get rid of mine. I could care less about the lofts, consistency is the key

It’s not just old blades, I brought an old set of MP 57s out of the closet, 4 or 5° difference in loft from my hot metals

Two of my regular playing partners still game 14's. They're pretty timeless and loft is just a number.

MP-14s are still very viable in the modern game. Golfers need to think about their irons more in terms of loft than the number someone stamps on the bottom of the club; it's still loft that drives distance for each player, high COR aside.

The only real negative with the MP-14s is, if you are looking for a set, finding a set that's in good shape.

I don't have 14s myself, playing 37s for various reasons, but the 14s are the iron that got me started down this road.

I just retired mine after 21 years. I played them up until this past August. Had them since 1999 and played them daily. I changed to a graphite shaft. Hogan PXT pro and I love them. I never thought I would change but these clubs just did it for me. I don't miss them.

Tiger’s still playing irons with similar specs. The MP-14 is still very relevant although finding a set in good condition is becoming a challenge. Like NRJyzr, this was the set that introduced me to the Mizuno feel.

I posted cause I was curious. I am currently gaming a set ( fourth set) of MP29’s. I have two sets of 14’s and was thinking of putting in some graphite shafts and gaming them. Mine are in good shape. I got to thinking about this subject after a conversation about the Mizzy MP20 with a friend and fellow gearhead. Those look much like the 29/14 heads to me. Only issue may be the different gapping in the PW to the sand wedge. I currently carry a set of Vegas 52 and 58.... just like I did in 1990-96. I can bend the wedge to a 48. Anyone else have to adjust the gaps?

I have a set that I play with occasionally. They are my favorite Mizunos out of the 5 sets that I have. The nine iron is 45 degree's and I replace the 50 degree pitching wedge with a 48 degree so that they gap into my 52 and 56 better.

Ok that settles it.... gonna reshaft them with some graphite and play them again. I checked the pw loft today. I had forgotten I already bent it to 48. Gonna have fun with these sticks again.
