100 yd wedge shot nightmare

Yep - this will be a big portion of my post-work range session today. Lots of 100 yard shots. I have royally sucked at the short approaches on the course lately. Horrible.

Also....I hear people talking about hitting 54s and 56s 100 yards. My 54, if I cream it, will go near that distance. But, I probably have better success just choking up a bit on the PW and making good contact. Goes plenty high. But, I'm not a WRXr who hits his 7 iron 200, etc.

Sounds to me like your swing might be too big. For me my wedge shots require my hands right at the ear and that’s all I concentrate on. In terms of yardage, I open up my wedges usually a quarter turn open depending on how much less of a yardage I want to hit. I could never do 1/2 swings on anything and it threw off my timing. But when I use my gap wedge for example, My full swing which is my ear, it would get me right at 110. A 58 degree right at my ear gets me about 90 yards. So from 110 to 90, I start at square and i turn my club about a quarter inch open and that gets me right at 100 yards still with my hands at my ear. Try it. Same with my 58. Never do I feel like I take a full in swings from 110 yards in. It has to feel as relaxed a swing without feeling like gumby of course.
