If anyone gets a chance grab a bottle of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof batch B519. It’s delicious. The A and C batches are higher proof, but to me this B519 and 122 proof is perfect.

Grabbed the C919 and that gives you a nice Kentucky hug... Comparing it to Stagg JR, I will take Stagg all day... I like the ECBP but it has a specific role for me

I was able to buy a Pappy 15 this year (at retail) and its an excellent bourbon. I enjoy it with friends and family. Bourbon is meant to be drank, not looked at!

i'd say drink them or sell them. not sure what other reason there would be to have a bottle sitting on a shelf if you aren't going to drink. unless you have a specific event your waiting to celebrate

Got a bottle of 2019 Eagle Rare 17 and OKI 12 year old today - can't wait to open and try both. IMO, it is made to drink, not collect. But I don't judge anyone that collects or flips. Like with golf clubs, once you own it you can do anything you want with it.

Just got notification I won a lottery for my state to pick up a bottle of the latest George T Stagg. Going tomorrow to get it. Amazing that it is already reselling for 5x the price.

Nice!!! I was driving home to Nashville from Atlanta and west of Chattanooga decided to stop at any liquor stores near the freeway along the route. Stopped in one place that had 2 bottles of Stagg behind the counter. They were going for $699 each - I passed. Another store had Weller Reserve for $250 and Weller 12 for $350. I could drink a whole bottle of Weller Reserve for less than that price sitting at the bar at Twin Peaks while enjoying the scenery. Just insanity.

Haha... I felt iffy spending $160+ tax for my GTS and $40 for WSR... Hate giving into places that charge more than min for bourbons but also know they need to make a living and also, rarity comes into play in pricing

That's insane pricing - WSR is $29 here in Ohio and can be found regularly. Weller Antique is $49 now and is also regularly on store shelves, though both do sell out. Stagg Jr. shows up on occasion, though I've not seen it. GTS, Weller 12, Weller Full Proof are state lottery picks.

Its funny what shows up in certain states more readily than others... Anything from Weller is kept in the back or behind the counter at every store I frequent... W12 is typically $90 around here, if you hear about it

Weller 12 used to be about $30 and for that price was an insane buy. Now it’s impossible to find.

Happy to have scored the last bottle of Noah's Mill in the local store I visited in Vegas on my recent work trip. You can't find it in Michigan and it makes a nice addition to the collection, especially at $50 a bottle.

Weller special reserve can be found regularly in my state (Kansas). Antique is on the shelf around Thanksgiving but price went up to $50 this year. Haven't seen Stagg Jr in a couple months. Was lucky to get a couple bottles of batch 12.

I’ve been hunting for the weller full proof or weller 12 year here in jersey for a while now. No luck unless you have deep pockets. Wish there was a decent store that didn’t price gouge. Would love to pay retail for these.

Both of those are lottery selections in Ohio. A few of the local bars have barrel picks of the Full Proof and it is really good IMO.

Man I had a Nikka Whiskey from the Barrel in my hand the other day but the wife would shoot me if I spent $100 on a bottle right now (maybe a bit overpriced but there's a huge range for this)..... Stupid pandemic.

Ha! yes, I know...but it did win Best of Show in SF Spirits competition two weeks ago; last year won by McKenna 10 year. So there's that.... ;)
