I have no experience with the waxed canvas, but when I asked Nic at Mackenzie this question a year ago, I believe he said Canvas = most waterproof, but you’ll have no issues with ballistic. I’ve played a decent amount in wet weather with ballistic and not a hint of wetness getting thru. Material definitely seems heavier than what you’d find on a standard stand bag.

Yes, waxed canvas would be the waterproof choice. In lighter rain or dewy grass situations though I've had no issues with the nylon material either.

I have a canvas, not waxed, and a nylon. Both seem to do just fine in wet weather. They frankly look about the same, waxed canvas on the other hand looks different.

I started with a ballistic a few years ago and picked up a waxed canvas last summer. I love the waxed canvas.

I have taken out the nylon in less than great conditions (soft after a rain, etc.).

When it is really crappy I will pull out my stand bag.

Soooo, I spilled a little CBD Oill on my waxed Mac, okay, it was a lot. Any thoughts on how to get it out? CBD Oil works great with inflammation post round BTW, especially after a marathon 144 holes in 8-days. Will be switching to the gum version after my latest fiasco.

Probably whatever gets the oil out will also remove the wax treatment. I wonder what's involved with re-waxing canvas?

It’s not. Lots of clothing— Filson “tin” clothing for example— is waxed canvas. Liberal application of new wax periodically is part of the routine upkeep.

 

To clean, use mild soap, cold or barely warm water, brush If more wax is needed the process is simple

I’ve got both a canvas Sunday bag and the original leather with two pockets. Here is a side by side of both. The Sunday bag is new and I like that they started putting the d ring below the handle for a rangefinder or Bluetooth speaker.

Looks great...you think you will try to carry 14 in the Sunday. Tight squeeze but works. BTW...leather pocket with canvas really looks great. NICE!!!!!

Thanks. Yeah I think I’ll try to fit 14 in the Sunday bag but it will be tight. Although I didn’t have trouble with 14 clubs in the Scotty Cameron Sunday journeyman bag. I think they are the same size so it might be fine. The original 8” bag has no issues whatsoever with a full set.

Just got my Mac bag and it’s epic! I understand the hype. It carries so well, strap is super comfy and carries lighter than it actually is. Only complaint is the range finder pocket won’t fit my compact bushnell, but it’s a perfect size for the divot mix we have to carry at my course

I'm in the process of beginning a build and I'm so torn between the leather and canvas. I'm a club pro in the northeast, and I plan on walking with a short set for our tournaments. I'm leaning towards the Sunday, but wondering if I'll miss that second pocket for a sweater or rain jacket. I had an original before, and found that when I had the bigger pocket, I didn't really use it. HELP!!

 

Also, are there any options for laser storage other than the pocket? Has anyone had a custom pocket done for that reason?

Hmmm...bag on the right is Navy Canvas...really breaking in nicely.
