SWAG Putters...first experience and WOW!

Recommended Posts

Lots of typical douchery from the wrx crowd, as expected. If you dont like the $555 price tag SEE YOURSELF OUT! I am very interested in trying one of these putters, love what they are doing. Some of you really need to educate yourself about a brand before you bash it. FFS!

*slow clap* ...agree completely*

Here's a few comparison pics with my SeeMore DB4, 350 Mil Spec and BL-2. Milling is perfect imho. Very light like my SeeMore and has a nice crisp thud. Haven't rolled it enough to give a real review but first impressions are ticking all the boxes. I no longer have any BB0's but that's what it reminds me of the most. These guys are true putter guys for sure.

Headcover is great also.

Its called a Swag putter, they make putters. Whats the problem?

Maybe this will help some of you.

Obviously most here don't know much about milling and what it takes to mill a quality putter. These Swag putters are milled by a major putter manufacturer x-employee and a long time tour fitter works for Swag from a major putter manufacturer. How many boutique putter manufacturers can say they had decades of experience in their work force? There are lines milled on the top of the bumpers so small not one person commented on that milling. If you look closely the bumpers have a lot more milling to get them to look the way they do. The swan neck is not heated and bent but milled that way which took them some time to get it right. Everyone else just heats and bends them. After using and trading high dollar tour putters for about 20 years I can say with confidence these are under rated and comparable to putters like SC or Betti for thousands.

I bought a Savage Too Center Shafted about two weeks ago. I am a fan of Center Shafted Putters and I liked the way the milling looked (I have been gaming a Cameron 2.6 CS Deep Milled for a few years). I was very impressed by the milling and the feel was as good if not better than the Cameron, with better stability. What I thought I might not like was the Black Shaft, but it turns out I really prefer it to a chrome shaft.

I actually pulled the trigger on the Special Release Savage Too Royal (non center shafted, but face balanced), not sure if I will like the looks (Colors) or not, but based on the quality of the first one I got, I am betting that this company has lots of upside and may be worth holding onto. If it is too much over the top for me I may hold on to and keep in the plastic and see if it increases in value. If I like it, I may sell off the headcover(s) to offset the cost of the putters (Will bring the cost to similar to a Cameron if you off load the headcover, I am sure the one that Comes with the Savage Too Putter will sell for a decent price) as I am more into the quality of the milling and build rather than the whole SWAG theme (I'm a little older than their target audience at 48), but after a few rounds I can say it is a quality made product. (The grip is a leather stitch-back as well)

If you like Center Shafted Putters (or looking for a stable Mallet with the looks of a newport blade) take a good look at the Savage Too, it is a nice Hybrid of a mallet and Newport style blade. A little shorter toe to heel, with a nice look looking down. 555 is a little steep, but if you sell off the headcover you can bring that cost down at least $100-120. These putters are also cheaper than buying a cameron and sending it to the custom shop as well, when everything is factored in.

Nice! I have a Savage Too I'm stalking on the bay for a very reasonable price below the $555 new price. I think I'm going to off my Limited Scotty to help pay for it (no headcover) so he probably did like you said and sold it.

Good to hear you like the feel of it. That was my big concern with not being able to roll one before purchase, the feels. I think I'm finally just going to do it since I found a decent price. And I love a mid mallet, its my preferred shape in a putter.

Not going to lie I'm super jealous of that special one you got. I just couldnt do that price. Had it in my cart within seconds and before they sold it but I got cold feet, lol. Such a beautiful putter.

I'm on the fence of picking up a handsome too undressed w/ the lighter face milling. I think you guys may have persuaded me to pull the trigger on it.

Based on my age I would not be one of their likely target audience and I’m not particularly drawn to skulls. However they have grown on me a bit for a few reasons.

their ideas are new and different. They are fun and creative. their quality is excellent in both putters and covers. The last Scotty cover I got felt like a dollar store cover inside and out compared to Swag. The lines on putters are crisp and finish detail is spot on. They feel as good as anything out there too. they actually take time to talk to you. I’ve emailed, PM’d on Facebook and Instagram and get a response every time. Had a late night conversation one night with the owner when we both happened to be having trouble sleeping. is it a different look and business model? Sure but it’s working for them and they really take care of their customers.

Happened to win this one last week and it feels amazing. Can’t wait to roll it outdoors.

I think they're a good company from my talks with them especially when I asked about lefty options and they said it's in the works, such a small demographic of golfers they listened. I plan on getting one once I get some extra cash.

Also that putter is just amazing.

Got my first chance to roll that Proto this weekend and I’m extremely impressed. The lines are just so much cleaner than many other putters. Feel and sound are wonderful. There is always that honeymoon phase with a new putter but everything about this felt great. Couple pictures of a second one I have and grip is still in plastic. I’m a big camo fan so this tri sole one is a favorite.
