He was proud of that. It’s still the best final round to win a major, and done on a very hard course where the scoring was difficult. Paul Laurie was the only person to do something close in that he shot 67 on an impossible Carnoustie in 99 British Open. Gets forgotten because the big story was Jean Van de Veld’s triple bogey on the 72nd hole.

Missed Miller talking a little about the tourney coverage and mostly of his career, swing, trousers.

He was thoroughly enjoyable to watch. His arrogance was his most endearing quality.

And by the way, he shot a 63 at Oakmont?

Miller was insufferable at times; however, he not only understood the game, but he could articulate what was happening quite effectively. Zinger may know the game, but he struggles to make any points throughout a telecast. On another note, does anyone know how long DL III's contract goes??? He is atrocious. Painful to listen to!

Can someone find a clip of Miller bringing up his 63 at Oakmont? Not merely discussing it, as I realize it gets brought up and he would discuss it. I’d like a single clip of him just bringing it up for no reason or out of context, like so many on this board think he used to do a half dozen times per broadcast...

I watched a ton of broadcasts with Johnny and never, not once do I remember him bringing it up. If someone else brought it up, he'd reply, but that's pretty normal isn't it?

If someone does happen to find a clip, then they should have to find another one too. Talking about the highlight of your career once is not a sin either.

Anyways, I miss him. He generally called it as it was. No false praise for mistakes. Better than DLIII or Zinger for sure.
