I'm wondering if the LPGA season is gonna start back up.  South Korea seems to be being hit hard by the Coronavirus and while there's still no travel ban there is a travel advisory from the CDC, so many players currently in South Korea could have a difficult time getting into the US.  I imaging the LPGA could still put together a full field but they have to stop with awarding points or even freeze priority  lists for sometime or perhaps the season depending on how long this lasts and how bad it gets.  Can't have half your tour and many top 10 players not able to compete.

I was thinking the same thing about travel. I would suggest the Korean players get to the US as soon as possible before any restrictions are put in place (should they come). Of course, some may not want to leave ROK if family health issues arise, but if they are just on social visit / relaxing I would log on to Expedia and get the next flight out to the West Coast.

I think Muni was still waiting for a visa to Singapore before the tournament was cancelled. Obviously these players have some chance to get a waiver/clearance to enter and play although that may not go over too well with many (rightly or wrongly).

For the last month or so I would say most of the focus/interest on the situation has been from people in Asia. With the virus now spreading outside of Asia, the rest of the world seems to be waking up ?????

Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand, who's just turned 17 five days ago, has won LET Thailand twice (2019, 2017) as an amateur.

Both could be future stars; will wait and see.

Pernilla Lindberg is playing at the New Zealand Open but having a bit of a tough day in the office. Scored +9 at day 1 and is currently T151 with a number of players still out. Thought there was talk of other LPGA players teeing up as well but she seems to be the only one.

I think the longer course would be tough for Pernilla, she's not on the longer end of the LPGA spectrum, Maria is probably better suited for it but because of what was mentioned above she'd probably be +9 also lol

I think she only had a single birdie so must have been really hard to gold the greens when each approach requires a long club in hand. But could also be that she just had a bad day. Let’s hope day 2 will be better.

They've cancelled school(s) in certain prefectures in Japan already for the whole march and are pondering all the way to June (entire nation closure of schools is also in the works)... so i would expect this to be an ongoing issue till the summer olympics (if the olympics actually happen)...

HK schools have been shut since CNY and I think are shut until mid-April.

Seems like many people in Japan are upset about the decision. Very difficult for parents that still need to work.

It may be less crowded and cheap to go see the cherry blossoms this year!
