Horschel done with PXG?

Just watched a few minutes of the featured groups and Horscel is not wearing a pxg hat and is using a bag with no logos on it...anyone have any info? Obviously he's still using the clubs.

Jonathan Wall (Golf Magazine) posted that it was confirmed by PXG he is no longer on staff as of 2/24.

I am super curious to see where he ends up..

Thanks for the info guys. I too am looking forward to seeing where he goes; ping seems obvious but we'll see. I could imagine him taking some time, I feel like players at his ranking/stature probably aren't getting great club deals so why not test some stuff out. Timing does seem a bit odd.

I agree he has played pretty well the last couple years; haven't checked his stats but it always seems like putting has hurt him more than the ballstriking. If you're a betting man might want to throw some pizza money on him the next couple months - as soon as Howell and Kirk left they won pretty shortly thereafter I think.

He's ranked OWGR 35. I think he gets a decent deal just not one of those Rory ones of course. He's not that kind of player nor talent. However he's steadily on tour for 7 years now. Last two years were two of his top 3 ranking years. A little strange that he hasn't played better. Over the years his short game around the green was never really good. Maybe he needs some Ping glyde wedges lol.

Looked like he still had PXG irons in the bag yesterday as well going by the pictures on Getty. Strange time of year for a deal to come to an end?! Also not sure how Ralph Lauren and FottJoy will be with him wearing a Gators hat with the Nike logo on the side.

Are these irons far superior or is it great marketing. Myself, I would never pay the retail price for these. My nephew is a veteran, I would go through him for the irons but I just have a hard time thinking these are any better than anything else ou tthere.

Doesn't matter what these guys use. They are good no matter what.

He didn’t have a hat deal with either of them so he probably not a problem and if he went Nike logo they chances of him going all Nike would be high. Nike tends to do a head to toe deal.

He's definitely still playing PXG irons today, and it looks like he is still using a PXG driver. The putter he is using today is not a PXG, though.

What seems to be lost in this discussion is this: he may have left PXG for some reason other than the clubs. Maybe he and Bob had a falling out, maybe he was sick and tired of hearing "Kaboom, baby," all the time. Maybe he doesn't want to be "owned" by any particular club manufacturer. It seems everyone so far wants to make this about the clubs, but there is no evidence that is the case.

Wow... what a dick of a comment!! You’re judging people based on clubs they have in their bags??? I happen to have a set of PXG clubs, and I resent your “look at me” comment because I am definitely not seeking attention from anyone! As a matter of fact I’d rather people not notice what I’m playing cause of generalizations such as the above comment! Just so you know my PXGs are 2nd maybe 3rd hand gen 1 0311t’s. I just acquired them recently and paid what I felt was a good price! And I’m super happy with my purchase and wish I could afford Gen 3 irons!!! Now, do I get some huge distance gain, or unbelievable dispersion that I don’t get from other clubs?? No!! However, do I love the feel, look at address and in the bag of these clubs.... Absolutely, hopefully one day I’ll find some lefty 3’s that someone is willing to part with!! Long live PXG!!!
