Mitsubishi Tensei with Callaway Epic Flash or Mavrik?

My current gamer is the Cobra SZ Xtreme Driver with the Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue shaft. I hit it well and dispersion is solid, but still longing for more distance. My back-up and very close #2 is the Cally Epic Flash which seems, by comparison to be a bit "hotter" than the Cobra, though not as tight with its current PX Evenflow shaft. Anyone play the Callaway with the Tensei shaft or something similar with really good results? Thanks!

Demoed the Mavrik subzero with the Tensei CK Pro Orange. Damn is that a nice combo (at least for me).

Demoed the Mavrik standard head with the Tensei CK Pro Orange. Havent played it on course yet (NY) but the indoor numbers are good for me. Had the shaft on my GBB epic. Hit them side by side on 3 different occasions. All numbers were better with the Mavrik and dispersion stayed the same which was good for me.

another vote for EFSZ with Tensei Orange Pro. I have that combo with the triple diamond head and it has been amazing. My left miss has been eliminated. It is not a “loose” feeling shaft like the evenflow, but I find it just as long, but less lefty / spinny. This kicked my 913 D3 with OBan Devotion 75 out of the bag after 7+ years. I went through literally a half dozen shafts / heads on the EFSZ to find the secret sauce for my game.

I play the mavrik sz with tensei pro blue. Loved it immediately.

I went to hit some new drivers, and the shafts they were trying to fit me into got blown away by my tensei pro orange in every aspect.

Started with a Rogue subzero 2 years ago with a Hzrdus yellow. That was a nice shaft, but if I really swung at one I would miss it right (I’m a lefty). Now I just stick with callaway and buy a new head each year.

I’m a really low hitter so I’m trying out a 12° epic flash head right now and my spin is only around 2400 with a 115 ss and this shaft. So far I’m loving the combo, but won’t know for sure until the weather gets better.

I have a Tensei AV Blue 65X for my EFSZ. Great compliment for my swing. Great mid launch and relatively low spin combo that (at least for me) worked vey well with the EFSZ.

I’m playing Rogue with Tensei AV Blue 65 (S weighs 68) and really like it. I’ve struggled with drivers and graphite shafts for a long time, but finally with the Tensei AV Blue and Rogue I can choose and shape my shots off the tee. I hit my driver in front of Track Man and there was no distance difference between the Tensei and PX Hzrdus Smoke. The PX shaft is super stable bordering boardy with a high kick point. I hit it well but somehow it’s not an enjoyable shaft to play for me. The Tensei is lower kick with a bit more torque flex but still plenty controlled for me to shape shots on demand. My pro thought the PX was going to be clear winner, but in the end he said performance was the same so it’s my call. Honestly IDK what my driver SS is - I forgot to ask - but I’m 86mph 7i and generally need a pretty stiff driver shaft. I thought Tensei S flex would be too soft, but I haven’t lost any left with a decent swing. I do feel the shaft working but its so smooth that I never notice it before impact.

I ordered the Tensei Blue for the Epic Flash. Will get a chance soon to test it against the Cobra SZ with the same shaft. Thank you for all the input.

I have the Mavrik and pulled the PX Evenflow out and put in a Kuro Kage 50g tini shaft in. Much better all the way around . Distance and dispersion .

Played the Mavrik yesterday after going to the range a few times. Settled on the GD AD DI shaft as my ball flight and dispersion were great. Even in 45 degree weather!

Got fitted in Tensei Orange last year for my Epic SZ. Just finished a new driver fitting and best combination for me (105ss, smooth tempo) was still the Orange shaft in the Mavrik SZ head. A great combination.
