Golf glove with padding

Anyone have a suggestion for a golf glove with a little extra padding? Not like a bionic glove. Maybe, something in-between standard and a bionic one.

Not to take this away from your direction, but have you thought about softer grips instead? Golf is all about feel and at least the grips are stationary and don’t move around so you have consistent feel with the clubs along with the softness you’re looking for.

Not really padding, I guess. But the FootJoy WeatherSoft has a second layer of a bit thicker material on the pad and around the thumb I think.

You might take a look at baseball batting gloves. Those always have thicker leather than golf gloves. They also have some with extra padding.

I had thought about grips. But, I just re-gripped my set.

Wrap your new grips with a tennis grip overwrap? They’re thin, tacky, and water absorbing. Tournagrip comes to mind as a softer padded feeling one? Others are super tacky and will feel like a tour velvet grip.

Bionic actually has different models and one of them has much less padding than the more commonly seen models. They are even fully conforming with the rules of golf (unlike the ones with thicker padding). I believe it's the PerformanceGrip (older model) and PerformanceGrip Pro (newer version). Yup the performance grip glove should be a good match as they have much less padding than the others models. I love bionic gloves !!

Bionic gloves are made by Louisville Slugger. Simply put, they are in between a batting glove and a standard golf glove.

I'm not sure that you're going to find something in between. Golf gloves either have padding, or they don't, and Bionic gloves aren't thick enough to cause problems with feel, or make you need to take the glove off if you normally wear a glove when you chip and putt, etc. So you could either look for the thickest cabretta leather you could find, whatever that is, or you go to the Bionic or something like it.

 

I mentioned this in another reply, but Bionic gloves are made by Louisville Slugger (Hillerich and Bradsby, actually), and they've been in the padding and durability business in making gloves for a LONG time. I know people are put off by the initial cost, but IMO there is just nothing else like them on the market for feel, comfort, and durability all in one glove. Even if they weren't more durable, and they are, I just wouldn't wear anything else. They're that good.

My hands get pretty sweaty when I play and I love using a rain glove. Nice feel and a bit more protection between the palm and butt end of the club

I went with the Bionic relax grip and so far so good. I will use those on standard grips and maybe no glove with plus sized grips.

Try GS Gloves on eBay. They have a more durable layer and thicker than most gloves. Would provide the extra padding you’re looking for and they are really reasonably priced.

gloves that have the leather patch on the palm.

As mentioned, the FJ StaSoft version with the extra layer in the heel pad are awesome. Moreover, I've found that rain gloves are much more sturdy/durable and work awesome in the summer when my hands/arms sweat and usually degrade the leather gloves quicker.
