125msi rogue silver and the velocore ventus blue

hey man -- i have! they're different animals -- the velocore blue has a bit more 'kick' as the rogue is more one-piece. what comparisons are you looking for exactly? the blue should spin a touch more, launch a few degrees higher. for the right transition, they're perfect for different swings.

Awesome!

How does the blue feel in the handle compared to rogue. Is the blue more tip stiff or about the same as rogue? How does the blue play, flex wise, compared to 125? Did you notice any difference in dispersion, good or bad, with the blue?

I prefer butt stiff, mid softer, tip stiff profiles. I get along really well with the 125 and the speeder evo2.

the blue feels a little softer in the handle to the rogue. the blue has a feel of a softer mid, but both are reasonably tip stiff/firm. the blue FEELS softer to flex only b/c of the smoother/softer/kicking mid section -- but they're both true to flex. you would probably prefer the rogue white to the velo blue...IMO.

Hmmm, almost seems like I may be a good candidate for ventus black in S flex. I've just never gotten along with low/low profiles. I like a mid/low profile.

I didn't care much for the rogue white I hit in the mavrik. Don't care for the new profile of the rogue silver either. They went butt softer in the new silver.

the black would be more along the lines you're looking for

The EI profiles of both shafts are interesting because they start from the same stiff butt and lose stiffness the same amount towards the mid, then completely diverge. The Rogue 125 gets stiffer in the lower mid exactly where the Ventus Blue gets softer, and then vice versa towards the tip. If you are sensitive to such things this means that the Ventus would feel like it loads differently, more active feeling.

The only way to raise launch and maintain spin is increase your AoA or strike the baller higher on the face. A shaft can not directly influence this, it is only through the reaction you have or do not have to the feel of the shaft that these parameters can change, and that will depend on the individual.

Speaking in terms of what a robot would see, the potential increase in forward deflection from a softer profile will increase dynamic loft, thus raising launch and spin, and also potentially drop strike location a tiny bit, thus increasing spin and lowering launch. We are not robots however so this should only be applied as a theory to suit facts after testing, those potential facts being that spin went up and launch increased slightly or stayed the same. The same thing is true for the inverse; if a shaft change results in a consistent raising of launch and lowering of spin, then multiple factors changed (shaft deflection, AoA, strike location) and it is important to know all of these data points so you can correctly assess what is responsible for what. Too many people oversimplify and attribute any and all changes to only a single factor when the reality is always more complex.

Cannot believe I found this thread.... Considering the same as I can get VeloCore Blue/Black through TM on the cheap but absolutely smoked Rogue 125 60 the past couple of years. Primarily interested in VeloCore Blue 7/8 in a fairway while still gaming Rogue 125 in driver. It's a long shot, but if anyone has given it a go, or has input on great FW shaft parings with Rogue 125, please.... throw em out there!

Didn't get a pic of the launch monitor results but if the range and on-course results are the same....

125msi will win out.

Why?

The ventus is super low spin compared to the rogue. I had a hard time getting spin above 2000 with the ventus.

I didn't see any ballspeed difference between rogue and ventus. I didn't even bother looking at dispersion with the spin numbers ventus was giving. Range and on-course coming Saturday.

what head and loft are you using?

VENTUS Red may be worth a look, will get you slightly more launch and spin over blue. Stiffer in handle and a more reactive tip than Blue

On course test today. Got a chance to hit 2 drives off every tee sonic got a good look at the two.

Can sum it up with, there's literally no difference between these two shafts for me. The rogue tended to launch a bot higher than the ventus. There were a couple of drives where the rogue was 5-10 yards farther. No real difference in accuracy. No real difference in distance.

It rained all week here in Orlando so I'll do another test soon when it's not so mushy to see if there's a rollout difference.

More rounds and reps comparing the ventus blue to 125msi rogue. The ventus will stay in my bag. The sidespin window is just so tight with the ventus. Did one more round of launch monitor testing too and there's no difference in ballspeed.

On another note. Doesn't appear ventus blue in 3wood will beat 757 evo2. From the feel of things, in 3wood, seems ventus black would be a better fit in 3wood. But I have zero issues with the evo2.

Can anyone definitively confirm the bend profiles of the Rogue 125 and Ventus Black? From what I've tested and felt, the Black is much stiffer throughout the mid section. I have the Rogue Silver 125 MSI I/O 70TX and tested that vs the Ventus Black 70 X in my SIM2 fitting. Keeping my Rogue as the Ventus felt completely different. Can anyone definitively confirm the bend profiles of the Rogue 125 and Ventus Black?
