Myrtle Beach/Charleston Trip

8 of us from Scotland are visiting in early May and this is our planned trip.

5/7 Fly into Charleston and stay overnight

5/8 Playing True Blue then heading up to Myrtle Beach (staying accommodation just south of Broadway on the Beach)

5/9 Playing World Tour

5/10 Day Off

5/11 Playing Grande Dunes

5/12 Playing TPC

5/13 Playing Dunes

5/14 Playing Tidewater

5/15 Playing Caledonia then heading to Charleston

5/16 Day Off

5/17 Playing Wild Dunes Links then flying home.

Are there any obvious problems with this trip?

Also any recommendations for bars or restaurants in either MB or Charleston would be appreciated. (Being Scots we like a drink!!)

Is it cheaper to fly into Charleston? Either way if I was going on a golf trip and getting in there, I’d trip to fit a day in at kiawah. Drive from Charleston to myrtle isn’t bad.

Lots of very nice courses on your list. Not sure World Tour is up to the level of the other ones. Just my opinion as it wasn't very nice last year when i was there.

Any reason you are choosing wild dunes over Kiawah ? Nice line up but if you are coming all that way and willing & ready to pay for good golf you are already there you should play Kiawah.

Great line up of courses. And since you are staying by Broadway on the beach you will have several choices to wet your whistle. That area has a bunch of bars and restaurants to choose from including plenty of nightlife. Its more of a complex that you can walk around and go to different places to entertain yourselves. My favorites would be Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville for a laid back dinner. And for nightlife I like Crocodile Rocks which has dueling pianos and a lot of sing along songs.

World Tour is a novelty for the replica holes. It is a forgiving course for early in the trip. You will have heard of all of the holes, but may only know half

of them, that are on TV often. TPC Sawgrass #17 has a smaller green. Augusta #12 is good, but is a longer hole.

Keep it if you like the idea. Replace it with MBN Kings North or Bf Fazio, if you want a stronger course. Depending on how long ago

you booked this, dynamic pricing may have raised the rates too much to want to switch courses.

 

You have a well planned trip on "best of MB" courses.

 

As mentioned, Broadway has a variety of bars and restaurants. NY Prime s a high end steak restaurant. Mellow Mushroom has lots of beers and food.

Rioz is a good Brazilian restaurant. Carolina Roadhouse/CAlif Dreaming are popular. Capt Georges, across from Broadway is good if you

like a seafood buffet.

 

Near Broadway is a big gentleman's club named The Masters.

World Tour is not the same quality as the others but is still fine. Personally I would replace it with The Dye Club or Surf Golf & Beach Club

I second this, Thistle is another solid option.
