To give you an idea, there’s a 2 night minimum stay (3 nights from August-November) required to be able to reserve in advance on Pebble, so there’s that, plus whatever golf plans you make. All the price info is available on their website, so I’ll let you do the calculations, but to play all 3 courses once, plus 2 nights in the lowest priced accommodations, with two people per room, you can do it for under $2500 (for golf/lodging only—flights/food/anything else on top of that)

So right now I live in Holland, MI (Near Grand Rapids). I am moving to North Carolina in June and want to play some courses in MI before I leave. What are your must play courses in MI. I have already played Treetops and Boyne. I also already have Arcadia, Tullymore, St Ives, and Lake Michigan Hills on the list. What else would you guys say I need to play before I leave the great state of Michigan.

I wonder if Treetops has been seeing a slowdown in their bookings for this year? I had sent an inquiry last year asking for a quote, and we ended up doing something else. I've now gotten both an email and a call from them asking about whether I'm looking to book a trip this year. It makes me wonder if they're having issues filling up their reservations this year. We already have our trip booked elsewhere, but it's something to think about if anyone else is trying to work out any trips this year.

I only went there because my friend got a voucher for spending a certain amount at our local golf shop. Think we paid under $100 total for lodging and to play 18 holes at the smith signature course

I called Treetops and they didn’t have any lodging available for when we wanted to go, so they seem busy to me!

Also, anyone going to the Michigan golf show this weekend? I'm going with my dad and a buddy on Saturday. Hoping to stock up on balls for the season and maybe snag some shoes.

I've gone to the two golf shows here in Grand Rapids...they had the same stuff at both, I'd expect this upcoming one to be much the same. My dad bought a sweet Taylor Made bag, and I bought a used Nike Squatch driver. Keep your eyes peeled, Maple Hill had some Pro V1 left dashes hidden amongst the regular PV1's, if you're into that kind of thing...Othersomewise, we paid $40 for 3 dozen E6's and split 'em, and my dad picked up some Taylor Made balls of some sort. I was sorely tempted by MH's assortment of Tour Edge staff bags, but just couldn't justify pulling the proverbial trigger.

The Detroit show will have more options than just MH, but yes they have by far the biggest booth. Last year I worked the show the entire three days and it was quite a PITA. It will be nice to just stroll around with a beer in my hand this year.

Should've clarified a bit more - Maple had, hands-down, the biggest booth at the West Michigan golf show. There were a few other vendors, but the West Michigan show (this was the first year I'd attended) had a lot of booths for traveling and for resorts. I somehow expected a lot more merchandise, but that wasn't the case. As such, I could really only speak to the stuff that I personally purchased :P

They had some hot deals at the travel/resort booths - $300 for a full weekend (3 days 2 nights) at Tullymore, $60 all-you-can-play with cart packages from some of the courses, and a LOT of stuff from Indiana (strangely enough). I'm not exactly in a position where I can plan on spending that kind of time/money on golf right this very moment, but I've got some goals to save up for next year.

Just missed you last year. I don’t think I’m going this year, work Friday and probably playing Saturday and Sunday. Don’t keep up with what will be open out your way but I imagine some courses will be. I might send you a PM to keep and eye out for scratch wedges if none of my buddies end up going, there’s usually some floating around.

What often gets me going is knowing the Masters Tournament is right around the corner. With that coming up it really starts to get exciting about playing golf again. Nothing like the Masters in springtime!

Some courses opening on the West side this weekend -- I know of Macatawa and Pigeon Creek in the Holland area. Maple Hill range is opening and they probably have at least 9 open on the course. Where else?

I haven't played PT in several years, I always hear they get a bit tough on pace of play. Just wondering what it is like to play there?

It's always busy there because they don't have leagues. So any weekday it's really nice out they are absolutely packed. It's also fairly tight and difficult which doesn't help pace.

It was absolutely packed today too. I felt like I was in a league with the line of carts tee off on the first hole (#10 today). It wasn't a big deal to me though because I was playing with my wife and 9 year old son, so I knew we'd be slow regardless. We decided to scramble which worked out great. I'd say it took us 2:30-2:45 for nine.

Washtenaw was jam packed today. The line of carts waiting to go off at around 3:15 when we finished was about 5 groups deep.
