The amount of offset on the new SM8 wedges is minimal and really hasn't changed over the past generations, its just a refinement of the overall shape from SM6, SM7, SM8. All refinement is from the tour and I bet the house that if the actual amount of offset was increased the tour wouldn't have accepted them as widely as they have. If your eye is that sensitive just order a lower loft and weaken 2º.

I agree, I am not too bothered by it. I did notice it but as said you can bend that out. I am just not sure I am buying the marketing story. But then again, its a wedge. What really should I expect?

The Mg2 are really good. As are the Mizuno T20 wedges. They just do not offer much in the way of grinds. Not that it really matters to most of us. We are not good enough to need special grinds.

Still less offset than a Cally PM grind.... FWIW, I actually like a little offset in wedges. Gives a more "captured" look behind the ball. I thought my last wedges, Mizuno S18's, had a little offset too.

I swore I read an article or watched a video with Titleist,, where they said do not artificially accelerate the rust on the raw wedges. I forget why, but they said to let it rust naturally.

That was the video with Trott about the MG2 wedges, he gets annoyed when folk try to do that! When I get my Artisan wedges no way would I intentionally rust them, I find it bizarre when folk do anyway. My SM7s Raws rusted in one round at Royal Aberdeen in the Harr, I find myself removing the rust.

Rusting will make your wedges spin less. Opposite of popular belief and wear the edges faster. That being said patina is awesome.

So I definitely do not have offset on my wedges. And my 60 D grind has a little of the leading edge closer to what I'd call onset.

I had my fitting for the SM8 today. The new Tour Chrome looks incredible. Less shiny than the SM7. No need for me to buy the raw wedge anymore...

Order placed on 54.14 F and 58.08 M with DG S300 shafts. Played the KBS Tour in the wedges the last 3 months or so. The fitter recommend the higher weight S300 and they feel really good. Can't wait for delivery... :-)

Just received my new SM8’s today and took ‘em for a whirl. After an amazing 9 holes, spent about thirty minutes on the 9th hole at sundown hitting all kinds of shots. The feedback from these clubs is off the charts. I am very excited to get these into competition soon.

Do you have to pay upcharge for shafts in the US? In Europe pretty much every shaft that is not a standard shaft has an upcharge to it. That is one thing that really bugs me with titleist.

Just got the sm8s in the shop a couple things i noticed comparing to the sm7s we still have. Mainly comparing 58 M grinds. The tour chrome does seem to have less glare on the heel and toe. Hosel length increase is very very slight but the hosel does seem thicker. The sole design on the M grind seems to be slightly reworked in a good way, looks like there is a little more heel relief and sits lower to the ground. Offset seems very minimal increase if any to my eye to. My raws haven't come in yet so i haven't got them on the course yet but the look is an improvement in my opinion.

Agreed on tour chrome. Played chrome SM7 for about a month when they came out and sold and bought jet black. Black is great but they do fade after a few months and don't look great on the face at address. Waited to see tour chrome SM8 in person and they are definitely more matted compared to SM7. Going to order 50-54-58 SM8 in the next week once I figure out my wedge shafts. Have PX 6.5 in my irons so thinking about moving out of S400 wedge shafts like I have now into soft stepped 6.5 54-58 and straight in 50.

All the finishes look great this year. I went with brushed steel. Almost changes color depending on the lighting, not quite as brown as the SM7.

Also, the D grind in a sand wedge is phenomenal. So good. Really good for full swings while versatile for shots around the green.
