Center Shafted Putters

I'm curious about the fitting as well.

I've used a CS putter for about 10 years (the past 8 using the Golo S). I always mess around with all types of putters at the local golf store/course and always stayed true to CS. I thought about doing a putter fitting but felt too comfortable with my Golo S to even think of moving on from it because "the numbers don't lie".

So I fitted myself and bought a Stroke Lab Black Double Wide with a Flow neck.....

The fitting was extremely interesting and for the first time in 15 years I’ll be playing the season without a CS putter. After a thorough fitting session with a SAM and trying many different putters, I was fitted for an Anser that is shorter than the “normal” size you’d find in stores. I’m average height yet a 34 inch putter is too long for me AND I wasn’t very good at lining up the CS putter (according to SAM) which is clearly the biggest problem. I could not have been more surprised to leave the fitting with an Anser putter...but I went in with the mentality that I was going to let the fitter do his thing and see what happens. It’s going to take a little while for my brain to adjust to seeing offset but I really do like the look of a traditional Anser-style putter.

As a side note, the fitter mentioned that the long, parallel lines on the Odyssey 7 didn’t help me because I tried to manipulate the putter head going back into a SBST (to keep the lines straight) when my natural stroke has a touch of arc to it. I always thought I was SBST but the SAM said otherwise which is why the Anser (at the correct length) with minimal toe flow is a good fit. Hope that makes sense.

I have a nike method mod 90 cs blade. Cs highly underated imo. Clears up alot of oddness in shaft connecting to heal and more control and feel it seems. That being said i can still putt very well with heel shafted putters but cs is underated for sure.
