So I’ve been looking for another Vokey Sm6 V grind 58* lob wedge but can’t seem to find one. Has anyone used the V grind that can point me in the direction of another similar grind? I’m not locked into Vokey if another manufacturer has a similar one.

Really? Interesting. I’ve played the glide 2.0’s in the SS and ES grinds, but I’d have never thought about the TS being similar to the V grind...

It’s got like 20* of bounce up front, narrow bounce surface, and plenty of heel/toe relief.

Not really IMO. Yes they have a V-sole, but less effective bounce, less leading edge bounce, and no heel or toe relief.

    I’ve just bought a CBX2 in 58* to use when it’s really soggy instead of my 60* MD5 Low W (8* bounce).

Too late in the winter really as my course was actually less of a marsh today than it has been for 3 seasons. Anyway, we’ll see. I fully expect to revert back to the MD5 in about a month, the CBX2 can then go into hibernation for 9 months. But, hit a handful of times and less than half price swung the purchase.

@iteachgolf said something similar in another V-grind thread. I have a raw 58D on the way!

Interesting. Dan is who turned me onto the V Grind in the first place. He showed me it on my visit down to see him last March. Unfortunately I had another wrist injury shortly after and sold all my sticks, now that Im about 3 months out from being cleared to play again and in the process of rebuilding the bag and planning some more trips down to see him. He knows his stuff, if he said the way to go is to grind a D grind then that's the way to go..

Not the stock D though, it needs some massaging to get it close to the V-grind.

Yep.. i need to look at the D again in person but by most accounts it needs some trailing edge relief and maybe a bit more heal relief... There have been rumors Vokey will release the V grind through WedgeWorks later on, so hopefully that happens..

So you had a wrist injury, sold all your clubs, and now get to purchase all new? Interesting concept I've never even thought of, let alone explored with the Mrs.! Will keep that in the back of my mind, and congratulations on being a TRUE WRXer! "Well, that could be a fractured Ulna"?

haha.. I wish I was faking it but it turned out to be my ulnar nerve. I actually expected to take a few years off, but the pain moved up to my elbow and caused a constant “funny bone” feeling so had to go ahead with the surgery.

So would've been better to just fracture the Ulna? 😄

Have you tried graphite vs doweling? I went through something very similar a few years ago (although maybe not as severe as yours), and found doweling my steel irons and adding closed cell foam inserts took all of that away. Sorry, I know off topic, but thought I'd throw it out there?

yep.. I’ve tried everything.. it popped the first time back in 2013.. since that time I’ve tried foam inserts, recoil 125, recoil 95, Steelfiber 110, and Steelfiber 95, even went to a baseball grip for a few years putting more of the club in my right hand.. then in 2018 I had a large cyst removed from my wrist that the doctor had hoped was putting pressure on the nerve causing the issues. I played close to pain free for 9 months, then it popped again... hoping it will be completely behind me later this year and I can get back to enjoying playing again.

The post just said it if you take the D grind and add some trailing edge relief to the back it is very close to the V grind. After reading his post I actually picked up a new (outlet condition) MD4 X grind through Callaway preowned’s 25% off sale for around $64. Figured at the price it was worth it to see.
