What's anyone think about OEM headcovers?

Got new Callaway EF woods over the off-season. In addition to being an enticement to thieves that you've got $1000 worth of new gear in your bag, do you think it looks bad showing up with a real matchey looking bag? (Kind of like having your name on your bag when you're a hacker) I'm not a big fan of the fuzzy animal covers either, but thinking about getting some plainer looking ones or just using some mismatched generic covers.

I just think they all look cheesey or bad. I have all custom headcover for my driver, both my woods, my hybrid and putter.

The Epic Flash ones i have seem like good quality, kind of fake leather, but the color scheme is so bad. And they're not paying me to advertise for them.

I prefer to have as much of my bag reflect my own personality and tastes. OEM headcovers are always ugly. I don't even use the headcover to my new Scotty putter.

I used Seamus covers on my woods and hybrids... they just look better

Some are cool but most these days are tacky, something about the mid 2000's that produced bad ass headcovers.

I agree that I think most look terrible & I don’t like advertising what’s in my bag. I have Seamus driver & woods, & Seamus & a few other putter covers.

I like the G410 covers (have driver and two fairways), probably the nicest OEM ones from clubs I've had. But I don't use them just for safety from potential thieves. Same (esoecially) for not using the OEM cover on my Scotty. Not that I would..the yellow one for the Phantom X is just fugly.

I still like a good looking bag though so I'm using some Rose and Fire ballistic nylon ones on my fairways and putter. Also have one for the driver but presently using a Dormie on there. There probably is a point though that using an aftermarket cover is an additional advertisement to thieves that probably a goody is under there, or that the headcover is a target by itself.

I'm in the minority here. I play a Ping G400 Max driver and love the looks of the OEM headcover. I had played a Cobra 3 wood and used an old headcover from my Dad's bag with his name and club name embroidered on it. I recently bought a G400 5 wood and use that OEM cover to match my driver. I now have my Dad's cover on display in my workshop.

Even if the OEM headcover isn't ugly, I still prefer to have covers that match my style. If I was gaming an expensive putter I think that Scotty HCs can draw wandering eyes. Right now I have a combo of Illiac, Fore Leaf, and a homemade cover. I do have the stock 2Ball headcover. I have problems losing custom mallet covers. Ever since I switched back to the stock cover it has stayed put. Lol.

Only OEM covers i've ever liked were the 913 and 915 Titleist lines

I use Seamus. The golf industry is in an awesome place giving us a ton of options for the small things like headcovers by smaller producers.

I haven’t used a stock OEM cover for 20yrs. To the untrained eye my bag looks very generic. I hope it keeps the thieves off when they don’t see the obvious name brands blazing neon signs all over the place. Knock on wood...

I’ve never been a fan of OEM headcovers. I like plain/basic looks and have the Rose and Fire black ballistic covers.

The R&F ballistic nylon look great, last very well and are still "basic". For the uninformed, the quality leather number on the headcover adds a bit of modest bling and the padding is very good.

I loved the R7 TP ones, the super deep black one, even the titleist ones of that era were super classy. now a days Im pretty sure ive thrown out every stock head cover as soon as I get home

First thing I do is throw the stock headcover in the corner of the garage for that inevitable time that I will resell the club. I like using personalized covers when I play. They look cool (at least to me) and nobody needs to know what clubs I am hitting.

I'll use the OEM covers if they're easy enough to get on/off and aren't hideous. However, I often buy stuff 2nd hand that doesn't come with the cover. So currently I only use the i20 cover that came with my driver. My Adams and PING hybrids didn't come with covers so just use a couple knit covers I've had for awhile (rocket tour and sunfish). Putter didn't come with a cover either so just got a PING cover that local store had. It's not a PING putter though.

The OEM covers work just fine for the intended purpose of protecting clubs.

Other than a Callaway "Vintage" headcover for my hybrid I guess you could say my other headcovers are custom with no way of knowing what brand or model club is underneath.

I prefer to avoid brands as they invite theft. I use Stitch leather headcovers. Simple, classy, and timeless. Until I'm paid to play a specific brand of clubs, I'll skip the OEM covers.

Doesn’t want theft so uses more expensive headcovers lol little backwards logic there. Anyone who knew enough what oem headcover was worth stealing would see you spent money on nice covers and know to steal it anyway lol

Sunfish knit poms currently. Have used other poms in the past. Like the retro look and it doesn’t matter how often I swap woods and hybrids, bag always looks the same.

I recently got some custom Sunfish leather head covers. Nothing too fancy, just a color scheme that matches my bag. They're very high quality and super easy to get on and off the club. For putter, I always go with a magnetic cover. I prefer the Craftsman brand.

Seamus is the best for easy on easy off and Fore Ewe are the best knit. PNW is leading the way when it comes to headcovers.

I figure the Seamus ones would get soaked in PNW rain and take a long time to dry and I've shied away from those styles. The same for any knit ones, or do these have special treatment?
