I heard that Brooks was playing an MMT shaft in his driving iron last week at the Palmer. Can anyone confirm this?

I heard on the coverage of the player’s tonight he put on 30# after his surgery.

Could be a big reason he’s not playing well. Weight gain or loss has a big effect on a body’s golf swing. David Duval going the other way ruined his game.

yeah, I know. I was just playing off that all the commentators say he looks like a linebacker. If the numbers are true and he has gained 30 pounds based on previously reported numbers he is at like 230-240. That's pretty much linebacker weights.

Like in a different world bigger. For example, DK Metcalf at 230 has different, how should we say, proportions.

 

I get that Brooks is "bigger" than most average golfers, but the way commentators/pundits/media talk about him is exhausting. Brooks' own comments/schtick are getting really tired as well.

Back on topic, I am very interested in the MMT 125TX and not just for driving irons. I hit a 105 and it had the most steel-like feel and performance of any graphite iron shaft I've hit.

If you hit the 125x, I predict they will be ordered and going in your irons! I had the pleasure to test J13's at his club and man are they tight on dispersion but with amazing feel!

If I had some underlying physical issue/limitation I was trying to resolve, I probably would have ordered them sight-unseen after the little test. But without that in play, the cost is a very limiting factor for me. $500-$600 plus install and grips...starting to stare down $1K without heads

They make a 105 TX and 125TX utility length taper tip shaft. 40” length specifically for driving irons. Bet it’s the 105TX

That would be my guess as well given that his Nike Vapro Pro iron had a 95g shaft and the Tensei was 100g.
