Golf shoe height

Seems crazy but in my Foot Joy contours from two years ago I hit my driver and woods consistently better and further than I do in my new lower to the ground echo shoes. I putt better in my old higher shoes but my irons are better with the low profile echos. I noticed this after about 3 rounds in my new echos . Does a slightly different height shoe really make that much difference? I especially find hitting up on my Driver and in the sweet spot easier with the FJ contours . I’m a 6 cap.

I wish it was but I don't think that's the case....

    It's the equipment's fault!

    I can't comment on this.

I'm tall and can't hit properly with shoes with a high sole or high heel, just like I can't hit in tennis shoes. It seems logical that a lower to the ground golf shoe would be better, but some may not be used to it.

I notice a difference when I switch between my Titan Tour Ignite's and my Adidas Tour 360's. The 360's add just a little height and I notice it for a few holes. After that, I've adapted to it and don't notice it. Some shoes aren't for everyone, but if you hit irons better than woods depending on the shoes, you might be a head case. 😅

Not sure why this post would get flack from some, I've noticed it when going between spiked and spikeless shoes in the past. More so with putter in hand and usual stance/posture. The difference between some of my truelinks and Tour 360s is at least 3/4" of an inch.

I feel sorry for the OP getting stick, I have noticed a difference when going between shoes. I almost always wear FJ Icons but spent a week playing in Portugal and took a pair of DNA 2.0’s. I never really noticed but when I came back I went for a lesson and the difference in by BodiTrak measurements were hugely different to what they had been before.

I notice it for a couple swings when going between Tour360s and my TL-01s which is about as extreme a difference as you’ll see in terms of drop and heel height, but feel like I adjust pretty quickly.

I notice it when I swing in my tour 360s and non golf shoes. I’ve also seen it with different golf shoes. I think it makes a difference because you’re changing the arc of the swing to the ball but probably figure out the issue as you keep swinging.

I can feel it too. I have six pairs of Footjoy M Project stock up for this reason. I mean I adjust after a bit, but M project is just so comfy.

It does make a difference your lowering yourself on irons but other shoes are heightened for drives. Iv had shoes that are higher and made iron shots more akward feeling. Maybe the added height might be increasing swing speed by a mph or 2.

On hot, dry days I will sometimes play in running shoes. I never noticed a difference. My Ecco's seem as high as any of my other shoes.
