Anyone that has the sim ti 3 wood feel the head size is just a bit too big? I can see it being great from the tee but really curious how it is off the deck

I thought so at first, but you will rapidly get used to it. Absolute bomb off the deck.

I have the same shafts and heads but put in the opposite FW heads.

Try the Ventus Blue In the SIM.....long!

It really depends on the player. It's about the same size as the TS2 3w and I can hit that from the deck easily. When I demoed the SIM, I was hitting it off the mat and it wasn't any harder. If you struggle with hitting a high ball then yes, the face depth is going to make it harder from the deck but the size isn't that bad. This is just my opinion though so take it with a grain of salt.

I've really liked the larger footprint of the SIM so far although I've only hit it inside on a simulator. I have a SIM 15* w/Ventus Black I've seen 3-4 mph speed increase and 10 yards from my M5 with an old Speeder Evoltuion 757x. In the past I've set my fairway woods all the way down to the lower setting to play closer to 13* but with the SIM I've had dial it back slightly to get the yardage I am looking for. This fairway is hot and can't wait to try outside in about a month or so.

My SIM Ti 3 with the AD-DI 7X was pretty lethal out on the course Sunday. Was carrying it past where my buddy's driver landed

Saw the SIM 3 wood in the store yesterday. Holy cow it was stunning. I didn't have time to hit it, but its looks better than my M5, which I really didn't think was possible. That's a stunning 3 wood.

Just got my Sim TI. Great looking club but man does it really look closed to me at address. Is the standard setting the most flat/open looking?

Standard setting is most flat in lie but 3 clicks open on "LOWER" loft will open up the face (but increase lie angle). I just ordered the TI and was fearing the closed look. It was hit and miss at my green grass store.... Some looked closed and others sat square.

Yeah, I'll probably do the exact same thing. Crazy the difference that 1-2 degrees in face angle can make.

Actually I tried it that way first but my results for me was with the Atmos, go figure. I also have the smaller 168cc head 3 wd that I am sending back to Carlsbad for bending the the face angle a little open. Early on the best shaft for that one was an EVO IV 661-S. But I hook it too much. So we'll see what happens when it comes back. But I hit the "normal" SIM really good!

Maybe this belongs in the clubmaking thread but im curious on the adapter.... I have the SIM 3w and want it to play 17*. Lofting it up closes the face and ive been hitting some nasty pulls on the range. When I leave it stock at 15* its a very neutral flight for me. My question is, and I think I recall Ian from TXG saying this, but if I were to put a LH adapter on the shaft and put it to 17* does that now open the face instead?? I would prefer a neutral or even slight fade with my woods compared to hitting big draws

I think this is a popular setting because it opens the face slightly while keeping the lie angle within .5* of its flatest setting.

I am a big fan of the SIM max fairway wood. Super forgiving and goes forever. The SIM honestly just goes to far. I could do a 5 wood and crank it down. Maybe get a tour tip with a little extra adjustment to make a 4 wood....

I am still using the OG M2 Deep Face but it's starting to show its age a bit condition-wise. I'll wait until the Sim Max Tour head becomes more readily available or I'll most likely go with the M6 Tour head. Don't like adjustable fairways at all.

For those who have hit or purchasing the SIM 3 wood. Are you going for strictly distance or are you looking to fill a certain yardage gap? Also just off the tee, off the deck or both? I love my current 5 wood and hybrid. Have a nice 10-15 yard gap off the tee and deck. Im looking for a 3 wood possibly to replace my current gamer but I don’t need it to go as far as a driver.

No, if you use a LH adapter the labelled settings will be backwards, as in the 'lower' setting will actually be 'higher' and vice versa. The relationship between face angle and loft stays the same. Unfortunately there's no way to go higher loft with a more open face angle. 5 wood cranked down 2* sounds like a good option.

I too had OG m2 DF (#goat3w or maybe 906f2 with pro95x) Wow great club , 150ish cc DF 14.2 loft and 12 g hot melt . When hit , playing partners would always ask what the hell is that. Mine too was showing weld lines and age , I Cannibalized it and build a friend a new 3w ?

head was very heavy , so much so , to hot melt , changing the weight was necessary the shape / sole , looks like the sole / lowest portion of the head was off center favoring toe side , not that deep Face

bought on a whim Sim titanium

like others I felt Sim fw at ~180cc was like looking @ a MAC truck vs a Ferrari (like a OG M2 3w) and would be prohibitive / difficult from hitting off the deck. I hit it off a matt which was actually not that difficult. Found the head shape and color scheme much more visually pleasing than the m6. Feel was on par with the m6 but the sound I felt improved over the m6. Lastly , I know it says 180cc , IMOP does NOT look like 180 , just to my eye , but I really like the deep face of this club and the top looks great at address

 

Question , would safe to assume there is a tour issue version??? What’s the cc of the sim 3w v2??

Yeah the face on mine does not look particularly good either, but I hope it lasts for at least this season. I thought about getting the SIM TI 5 wood lofted down as much as possible, because that head is only 155cc. Might be worth a try. Got an AD DI 9X with a TM adapter at home.

Love the ad di 9x , mine has shown the weld lines for while , and hadn’t failed , but I’m only ~110 3w trackman , many on here faster than that .

have u hit the 3 TI SIM , it’s way better than I thought , but after seeing the size , I know there has to be some Tour issue SIM gear around ~150cc , even the rocket ? is 180
