Renting trolleys/carts in Ireland

I’ve been invited to play a tournament in Ireland beginning of June this year: Causeway golf to be exact. Awesome courses, absolutely looking forward to it, but.. We’re supposed to play 180 holes in five days and both me and my traveling friends don’t have the stamina to carry our bags that long and far. As we’re going to be flying in and we won’t be able to bring our own carts (for a fair price). So we’d like to rent some locally, preferably somewhere between Belfast and Portrush.

There’s companies willing to sell us all the trolleys we want, but if at all possible I’d like to rent one for the duration of the trip. It would be awesome if I could lay my hands on some electric ones, but if that’s impossible we’d happily settle for a push cart. As I’m talking about renting one, we’re obviously planning to pay for it.

Can someone push me in the right direction here? I’ve been googling, but either have used the wrong keywords or google just doesn’t like me ;) Thanks so much

Caddies, carts, trolleys, walking options while golfing in Ireland

Every course I played in Ireland had push carts / trolleys for rent. Some, not all, had electrics too.

@jvincent as this is part of a seriously big tournament, I probably will not be the only one trying to get my hands on a cart/trolley. I'd rather be sure we have something then stand there and be unhappy with the situation I created for myself :)@Ferguson thanks! I'd already seen that page unfortunately.
Maybe I should contact one of the courses and ask them if we can hire an electric cart for the whole week, even when we're not on their course.
Update: I've contacted one of the courses, so now we wait :)

When I go -- I just hire a caddie -- they are about $100 including tip. worth it too!!

I don't think the competitors would appreciate me, or anyone for that matter, to have a caddie during an amateur tournament. Also: I'd need one for 10 rounds. I'm not planning to pay $1000 ;)

I don’t understand; For the price of renting for 10 rounds, for half the price, you can buy a push cart!!!

you could probably sell it for a few bucks at the end of the trip too.

This makes a lot of sense. I just did a very quick Google search, and this place sells 2-wheel trolleys for as low as 30 pounds. Sports - Golf - Golf Trolleys & Batteries - MoreSports.comIts pretty close to Portrush, and they say they'll deliver for free. The 30 pound options aren't going to be the Mercedez Benz of trolleys, but they'll certainly be adequate for a week. No matter what route you go, make sure to take a couple of bungee cords with you to secure your bag onto whatever trolley you end up using.

Update: we've requested carts at all the courses. We just hope doing so about 2,5 months in advance is enough ;)
