Streamsong caddy question

I always thought it was mandatory that you had to take a caddy or forecaddie on the course which made me avoid going here because for some reason I'm too intimidated for a caddy. That being said I read some reviews that seemed as you can carry own bag or use push cart. Does anyone know if you can golf without a caddy at streamsong?

You can carry your own bag or push cart. Really not sure why you would be intimidated by a caddy. Most caddies are fantastic. There will always be a few stinkers though.

Caddies are required "in-season", but during summer season, as stated you can walk or use push cart without a caddy. DO NOT play the Black course and walk. The Black is big and spreadout over a large land mass! Bliue and Red are walkable, but there will be lots of hill climbs to get to tee boxes or green complexes.

I'm heading down with a group next month. 2 of our tee times are walking only, 1 would have carts as an option. One of the guys in the group has bad ankles. My questions:

1) That round is on Black. Is he better off walking the course with a caddy or talking the cart? He's about a 25 handicap, so it's not like he's just going to walk to the fairway once from the cart path.

2) Would he really benefit from a cart either of the other rounds? Theoretically the rest of us could add a replay in the afternoon and he could play that one instead of our morning walking-only round.

I have played all courses multiple times and carried each time (age 28). While the Black is an easier walk (topography wise), it sometimes can feel hotter because of the sun reflecting off of the sand and waste areas all over the course. Since you are playing in the morning, I think he could walk it with a caddy but I wouldn't have him carry. My friend and I looped 36 in the middle of June last year and he had to stop after 27 so if you guys want to play 36, I would recommend carting the second round as Red/Blue have much more elevation change.

Seems like there are differing opinions on the walkability of Black. Any other opinions? Sorry off-topic to OP.

Black is walkable but it is a lot of steps. I have walked it with a caddy but don't think I'd hoof my own bag around. I also thought of the three courses, the caddy was most beneficial on black - lot of holes where knowing the right spot to target on those massive greens made a big difference.
