2020 Titleist T100-S Iron in hand pics

I have the same combo with 6-PW T100 all 1 or 2 deg strong based on gapping and T200 4-5 both 1 deg weak. If I would have known T100-S were going to be coming out I would not have ordered what I have currently. I'm steep and hit the ball too high with too much spin as it is so these would have fit me perfect. Keeping the bounce standard would also be more ideal for me. I'll be debating very hard over the next 2 months whether or not I make the change and order 6-PW in T100-S. More than likely I do and it's really annoying I didn't now this was an option that was coming. And Titleist 100% had to have known almost for sure they were coming out with these when the T series dropped.

Interested to test the T100-S.

Been in a full set of 716 T-MB since they were released and still really like them.

But the T100-S has me thinking I can keep the best parts of the T-MB (bit more distance, forgiveness, higher launch, steeper descent angle, slightly lower spin and all in a very good looking head at address), while adding softer feel and better regulation of spin on shots slightly higher off the face.

The T-MB aren’t prone to fliers, but I’ve definitely had 3-4 short irons jump on me at important times because I’ve gotten steep and hit them high out the face. Because the T100-S aren’t a hollow construction, this could really help manage that type of miss.

On paper, I’d bend them 1* weak to match the T-MB lofts.

in regard to the loft debate that has started in this thread... Part of the reason I like to play a slightly stronger lofted iron is because I play a hybrid 4 iron (even the T-MB 4 iron didn’t gap properly for me on a slight miss hit and tended to bunch to closely to my five iron) and the highest lofted wedge I like to play is a 58 - so in a four wedge set-up, I need an iron to be slightly stronger lofted to gap properly.

I don’t look at it as trying to squeeze more distance out of my irons per se, my aim is to make them gap properly between my 4 hybrid and my preferred wedge set up.

I’m also a high spin player so knocking a bit of spin off by having slightly less loft, is also ideal.

Having gamed a full set of T-MB's for 4+ years, I find them very, very forgiving. By that I mean if you don't quite get them flush, the distance drop-off is absolutely minimal.

I do wonder whether specifically the 5 and 6-irons in the T100-S will be as forgiving in that respect as the T-MB. But that's what testing is about.

Safe assumption that if someone liked the T100 but wanted the 5-6 more yards these offered they would be good? The only way stronger lofts in irons work is when the CG matches by lowering. Otherwise like many have said you just have a lower launching iron. Has anyone had a chance to hit one yet and compare?

i moved from AP2’s to X Forged for a bit because a fitting showed slightly more ball speed and a few yards more carry. I later learned it wasn’t magic Callaway dust but rather the lofts were stronger than the AP2 by 1 or so degrees. It actually made a difference for me, but had to move on from that set due to not liking the PX shaft affect on my wrist. These irons with the same shaft I got fit for in regular T100 sound perfect.

I got fit for T200 back when they came out, and predictably it was into the same shaft I usually fit into for Titleist. Didn’t try the T100 As I had played AP2 forever and convinced I wanted more forgiving. Turns out forgiveness is a funny thing, but one thing is for sure after I finally hit the T100 a little bit ago I just felt like they were a little more demanding. I think I was trying to get them to go as far as the T200 which they obviously won’t, but that is why I am so intrigued by T100-S as well.

Compared to T200 these will move more easy left or right and high and low. Flight should be lower and the feel should be better. Should spin more too, which if you pure it will send it straight but if not it will accentuate the miss. In no way will the T100 be more forgiving in a technical standpoint but you may find them easier to hit if that makes sense.

Got to agree about forgiving T-MB irons, if my 716 T-MB (sold) and current 718 T-MB 17* 2 iron are any indication. The other breezy day for fun left driver & 4wd in the trunk and played 6300+yds only using irons, and 718 2 iron off every tee and off the deck on some long 4's and par 5 2nd shots. Never missed a fairway and carded an 80. Would have been a 78 but a 215yd Par 3 bit my azzzz. Anyhow, one things for sure 718 T-MB 2 iron is easier to hit than 716 T-MB 2 iron and mishits are still surprisingly acceptable.

I doubt T-100-S irons will be equally as forgiving as your T-MB's, but good luck.

For those of you getting the T100-S what type of wedge setup are you going with considering the PW is 44 degrees?

I like a 22* 4 iron and 46* PW. I also understand that some people might be drawn to pulling a 7 or 8 iron where they used to hit and 5 or 6. These companies are in business to make money and distance irons are very much en vogue these days. They aren’t replacing traditional type clubs, they’re just another option. WGAF.

You should have waited! The T100R is coming only 1 degree stronger than the T100 and 1 degree weaker than the T100S
