Miura MC-501, Titleist 620 or Ping Blueprint

Just throwing this out for some info / reviews. I have hit the Pings and 620’s. Both are really good the 620’s felt softer and a little higher launching to me. Just seeing if any Golfwrx’ers have some info/ pros/ cons. Thanks in advance. I’m looking to update my TaylorMade 730’s that I picked up last year.

I gamed the MC-501 last year and really liked them. They look great and very easy to hit, especially the long irons. Very thin top line, too. The only drawback (for me) is that they have quite a bit of offset. I got used to it over time, but I really started to notice it again after testing out some of the recent blade offerings. The offset isn't super extreme or anything. It's just a bit more than I prefer. I think the newer MB-101 might be a better Miura model to compare to those other two since its a true MB. I have hit the Blueprints but not the 620MB. I enjoyed hitting the Blueprints. They looked perfect at address. They had a good feel to them (when middled, lol) but I have grown so accustom to the Miura feel that I kept itching to get back it. I would also consider the Srixon Z-Forged if you want to throw another contender in. Little bit larger blade but man did they feel great and perform nicely.

I played the Mc-501s last year as well and really liked them. I did compliment the top end with a Srixon 4 iron just for a little extra help. I think they were my favorite iron I've ever played and really love the softened leading edge - it provides a bit of a buffer getting through the turf and I think it helped me a bit overall. It's nice to have forgiveness in the face, but for me I think I benefit more from that leading edge relief than anything else.

I'll second what cflo stated in terms of offset. There's more than you'd expect with a Miura, but I got used to it really quick and it never bothered me. It has a very square toe that you'll either love or hate. Personally, I really liked the sharp lines at address.

Ive owned and played all three. Here’s the best way I can break them down. Mc501: feel is suburb, super then top line, too much offset, and I felt the sole was too wide. Blueprint: feel is pretty good when struck well...don’t miss though, great shape, just tiny. 620 MB: (current gamers) great shape and feel, thin sole that glides through the turf effortlessly, perfect size for an MB, classic styling.

I'm a lefty and can't hit the MC-501, but I have hit the other two extensively. The Blueprint was better (for me) than the 620. I was more consistent and I enjoyed their solid feel more than the 620. They all look fantastic, I think the MC-501 is the best looking iron I've ever laid eyes on and I would play that in a heart-beat if I could. Lefty probs. You really can't go wrong with any of them!

No hands on insight here, but I would prefer the Miuras just based on the fact that they are a little longer blade length. I will occasionally miss on the toe side and it helps me psychologically if nothing else.

I played the MC-501 over the last year or so. No real time with the blueprints or the 620s other than into a net at the golf shop. MC-501s feel really soft, but not overly pillowy soft like Mizunos have to me. I came from 750s and currently playing the P7TWs, and what I found with the Miuras was that the even though the sole was wider, it actually played more like a blade type sole as their is a lot less camber and bounce to the sole. Where I think the sole width comes into play is the COG of the club, and along with the offset as I felt like the Miuras were really easy to hit higher. Definitely more offset then either the Blueprints or the 620s, so if that is something you care about that could be a deal breaker although I got used to it pretty quickly. The MC 501's are surprisingly small, the P7TWs which are a big blade, look like shovels next to them!

V2EMCPKF3RPD.jpgI have the raw miuras mc-501, I think they look incredible in an old school bag, no flash no glitz just business. As for how they play theyre surprisingly forgiving and as long as any cb without jacked up lofts. Good contact provides a boring trajectory (I am a very high spin player) short irons are nothing short of deadly. .Don't hesitate to purchase. Stay safe everyone :)

I've been gaming the MC-501's for over a year now and couldn't be happier. The look at address is unmatched in my opinion. Very thin topline, which can be intimidating to some, but I am a high HC and these are not anywhere near as punishing as the looks would have you think. The feel is superb, soft but solid. They were probably not quite as soft as my Srixon 765's I had before, but I like the feel of the Miura better. They provide excellent feedback.

I started with the satin ones and liked them so much I picked up a set of the raw ones as well. I thought it was just the difference in color or how it appeared to my eye, but I would say the raws looked like less offset.

Miuras are by far the best feeling irons in the market.

I game the MC-501 and to me personally, they play more like a cavity back than a blade. Real center hits provide great feel but extra distance for me, which can be annoying. Thin top line looks great at address and once you get used to the top line, you can't really go back. They do have a square-ish face - not like the MP-20 which is bubbly/round looking. Super forgiving. Y-grind is great for my swing, but to others, the sole can be thick.

Since you're looking for blades, I would go for the MB-101 or Baby Blades. I hit my friends MB-101 and they make my MB-501 feel cheap. There's no other feeling that can compare to the Miura MB's feel - it feels like you're not hitting anything but it just puts a smile on your face. Less forgiving but that depends on your handicap.
