Changing MP-14 Specs

I just picked up a set of MP-14 irons in really great shape for less than $100 and wanted to see if its possible to get them as close to the spec of my current MP-25's. The MP-14's are standard loft and lie, and my MP-25's are standard loft and 1 degree up. I know the lofts on the MP-14's are much weaker and wanted to check how much the bounce angles will change if I got them bent to the lofts of the MP-25's. Hers a pic of the MP-14's. Well it's going to be a 1:1 ratio in degree changes - loft and bounce will change in a direct relationship. Just find a 2 iron and play em 2-9!

I gotcha I have 3-PW im not sure if i should play the 3 as a 4 iron and so on until 9 as a PW or get them bent to my current spec.

Can i suggest you game them as lofts are std for a few rounds.I just got set of mp33 and old lofts are fine.im 60 54 50

Then 98765.pw and 9 had 8yards gap.9..8..7..6 gap

is great...have left my mp63 behind.

I gotcha I will definitely give it a try! I also play 50 54 and 58 degree wedges. Given that the PW is 50 degrees also wouldn't that limit my gapping a little?

I say just play them at their intended lofts. MP14s don't have all that much bounce.

Just think of your irons in terms of their lofts, not the numbers on the soles. Club numbers don't have any real meaning, it's loft that drives distance for each player with each iron.

I agree. It is best to have the MP14s at their factory lofts with their factory bounce so you have them perform as they're intended too.

You also get lots of offset bending them stronger. I'd just think of them as 4-G and play them as they are.

If you bent them to modern specs, they'd look weird (offset) and likely have zero or negative bounce. Play them as they are, and think of the PW as your 50* wedge (or close to your 52* if you play a 52*).

I actually just played a round with MP-14s, and went from a 22* hybrid to the 4i through to the PW, then 54* and 40* wedges. And to be honest, I didn't need the 4i.
