HELP!!! Developed the dreaded "S" word.

So I began playing around this time of last year. I had enjoyed golf before, but had never been too serious about it. I was persuaded to join my school golf team this past year, and also received lessons from the local golf pro. I averaged about five over throughout the season. Well I have been dedicated to lower my scores for next year, but have developed an awful shank with 80% of my irons. My irons are usually my strong point, and could rip my 7 iron about 175 on average... Now even when I make solid contact I'm about 25 yards short of my average. Someone please help. In these two videos, if you have any tips, drills, or changes they'd be greatly appreciated!

I'm not an instructor but have been a student of the game all of my life. It looks like you have two things working towards a shank. 1. You have a reverse c backswing where too much of your weight stays on your left side during the backswing. This causes a steep impact where your club head is cutting across the line. 2. It doesn't look like you're completing your backswing. That can throw off your timing, cause lunging and all sorts of bad things.

I would focus on the first position of the backswing to make sure your club is parallel to the ground and the grip end is pointed at your target. From there turn until you back is facing the target and your left shoulder is under your chin.

Keep it simple! Your coming to far from the outside ("over the top"). I would place a head cover or a towel to the right of the ball just at the toe of your club. This will give you a visual from trying to hit square or even inside of the ball. Start with practice swings just brushing the grass, once you feel like you have re routed your bath from the inside and not hitting the head cover put a ball down and try to hit big hooks! Then work your way back to a normal ball flight and eventually get rid of the head cover.
